  1. The filter "Geocache name contains" finds only search results where the search string is either at the start of the cachename or at least is not within some other string.

    Example:
Within region Bayern search for all mysteries with WWW:

    image.png.2294119f65af2739404f4b2a97305528.png
    URL: https://www.geocaching.com/play/results/?ct=8&st=Bayern%2C+Germany&oid=136&ot=region&r=48.2802&cn=WWW&asc=false&sort=placeDate

This will result in the following 3 results:
    image.png.37e4cfc4da75fd61ec6eca6229b26548.png

What I would expect is to also see all caches of the series including this cache https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GCA0B6X

    image.png.44974e12a8c317d7543ad8ea23f86666.png'

But these seems to be excluded from the search result due to the preceeding "_".

Another example which shows that in some cases a preceeding "-" seems to be acceptable:

Again within Bayern search for "kalender". You will get some caches with "Kalender", even one where there is a "-" before this textstring (100er-Kalendermatrix-Challenge).
But none of the many "Adventskalender" caches available in the region.

In my eyes this is a clear bug in the filter functionality. Either you rename field "geocache name contains" to something which reflects the real functionality or you give correct search results.

  2. One example among others - this is what I just saw when loading the browse map.

Pressing F5 I now see a corrupt map.
Other times I just get a timeout message.

  3. Hi, I am from Germany and will travel to Sweden and Norway soon.

Here in Germany these days we have many caches for which you need a long rod to pick them from the trees.

I heard from somebody that this kind of geocaching was orginally started in Sweden and is called "Biltema caching" there. But searching for "Biltema" in the geocaching country search for Sweden does not yield any results. Are these caches common in Sweden or not? Can somebody local tell how me whether there is a common wording in the titles of such caches in sweden? Or do I just have to filter for "special tool required" and then check the results?

    Thanks in advance.

    Often recommended - once again:

    1. Map your search result

    2. Select all caches

    3. Add the entire search result to a Bookmark List

NB: this post will be deleted with the first appearance of an idiotic "Funny" flag.

Unfortunately this does not do, what I want.
If my search results in more than 500 hits, only the first 500 will be mapped. I see no chance to somehow map the rest. Is it really too much of a request to just be able to add all of them to the list and not only the first 200?

  5. I really like the optimized layout. This works much better than a few days ago.

What should the new column "Info" show? So far I have never seen search results, where this column showed anything. I hoped that this might be the column for the requested information about personal cache notes. But this seems not to be the case.

And unrelated to this layout topic: I am still waiting for the "Add all search results to a list" Button ^_^

    1. Placed and found by filter chips do not honor user date format
    2. Solved/posted coordinates shows incorrect filter chip
    3. You can no longer add the first 1000 search results to a list
    4. Filter by geotours attributes occasionally shows caches without geotours icon
    5. Encoding errors in Found By username searches

Again, we appreciate your patience and passion for our game, I will keep the community updated on the status.

On Feb 16th you listed these topics as being "in work". I can't speak for all of them, but for topic 3 there has been no change in the last 3 weeks. I am still not able to create lists with more than 200 search results with one click.

I would appreciate some update of the status.

  7. I start some adventure lab. I click on the little blue arrow below the map view to use Locus App for navigation.

Until the latest update this worked just fine. But now Locus will show the position of all Lab points somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, probably at N 00 00.000 E 00 00.000.

I think that the probable cause is some different format in the API of the app, which can not interpreted correctly by Locus. But I am not sure whether this needs to be solved by Groundspeak or by Locus :(.

Anybody else playing like this and having the same problem?

  8. As of sometime in the last two or three days something was again changed with the filtering which is clearly inconsistent and wrong:

If I use the search filter on the start page (https://www.geocaching.com/play/search ) I will get a filter overlay which shows a filter for "Find Date". Entering anything in this filter does not change anything about the search result and seems to be totally useless.

If I use the search filter from the map view, instead the old filter with "Placed Date" shows up. Fortunately this works as expected and gives the results you need for example for finding out about new caches.
