  1. I have already experienced that the pocket queries when run in Chrome will not load all of the caches listed and shown on the map to a gps unit. Since then I recently got a new laptop with Win10 and Windows Edge. Pocket Queries run in Edge will not populate all the caches generated and show on the map when you transfer the GPX file to your GPS. So, I have been opening that window in IE and up until yesterday all was well, GPX files transferred to the GPS with no issues. However, today the same issue from the other two browsers happened in IE. I downloaded freshly generated queries yesterday in preparation for todays adventure which was a trail of caches in Johnathan Dickenson State Park, nearly an hour drive from my house. Prior to leaving I checked the PQ map on my laptop to confirm a couple of turns I needed to remember and the caches I was after were on the map. However, when I arrived at the park, poof, a 3 mile hole in my PQ that is centered in the park about 1 mile west of my location for today. I was able to manually enter waypoints and saved the adventure, but, what the heck is going on? I have three caching events coming up and they are a long distance from home, one over 500 miles away. I need to be able to count on the PQ's loading completely! I am not alone in experiencing this issue, several of my local caching friends have pointed this out to me. They are the ones that helped with the Chrome issue first. Looking for a solution from Groundspeak first. Looking for a work around from anybody else experiencing this issue that has it resolved also.
  2. Okay, I am being patient and trying to adjust to the new maps. I preferred the clean street view to see cache locations and plan my caching trip. If I was heading to the woods, nature areas or parks I would then jump over to the satellite views to check water, terrain, paths, trails. This new map set up offers that view, but takes FOREVER to load, if ever completely an is essentially USELESS! I'm in a city with a strong DSL connection and this feels like the old dial-up days when 26.6 was screaming fast. Please Groundspeak, consider other alternatives. I'd gladly pay a dollar more for my membership to have the functionality of the old Google maps.....even with less detail. And consider this, what good is detail when a cache I just placed for kayak cachers is located on dry ground?
  3. Personally I'd return that to L.L.Bean asap and get my money back. I'd recommend a regular gps unit, I'm using a Garmin Etrex 20 and love it. Paperless caching is the way to go, you can pull up everything during a cache hunt from the description of the cache to the last few logs of cachers who did or did not find the cache. I really enjoy getting caches that have not been found in awhile. But, as for buying an expensive gps for a hobby you don't know if you'll like you can look at it like this. I bought my first gps for kayaking and hiking and started caching to practice with the unit. I then got hooked and love it. The best part about caching is that I get taken to places I never knew existed in my own home town. Well worth that alone. Good luck on your decision.
  4. My delivery date for my Etrex 20 was pushed back from early September to late September, which turned out to be the 5th of October. However, took the new gps out today for the first time caching. Wow, spent most of the time with being accurate to approximately 10', huge improvement over my old gps. Fast boot up and loads of options for caching. Still working out small config details like making it auto zoom in as I get closer to the cache or waypoint I am looking for. But so far so good, very happy with it.
