  1. I love filling up containers with SWAG. I feel like I am planning a party when I create my SWAG bags. Finding caches large enough to hold SWAG. Learning my way around in all the remote an beautiful locations in my area. Going with my friends who get as excited as I do at finding a beautiful location with a nice cache.
  2. I really appreciate you thinking of the mobility impaired. As I read your post I thought about the time I went to Saint Augustine and visited the fort in a wheelchair. Quite an experience and no the place is not wheel chair friendly. However, there are some parks designed for the mobility challenged. Do you have any near you? You could let the special equipment required be things like a black light, or tool that anyone could use it would just take brain power to sort out. I saw a video on youtube that required a person to figure out they had to blow open the cache as there was no other way to open it. I think you are on to a great idea of creating a low terrain/high difficulty cache and I commend you for it.
  3. We went tent camping for the first time since a drunk driver seriously injured my neck and back. After surgeries and years and years of physical therapy we did it. It was awesome to take our family out and have a wonderful time.
  4. I am glad you had a good time! How cool that you found someone to bike and geocache with!
  5. If you look in the coin forum they have 11-11-11 events planned all around the world.
  6. While on vacation I came across a tourism brochure about geocaching. I was shocked with the brochure. It contained coordinates to local area attractions and indicated something like there were hidden containers where they could find small toys. Whoever created it obviously was using the name of geocaching to attract people to tourist locations but thankfully they did not post cache names or coordinates just coordinates to the tourist locations. Anyway, it was a disaster of a brochure. Someone clearly did not know what they were doing.
  7. Usually, they have them in the Martha Stewart Scrapbooking section. They are called punches and come in many many shapes. I have other brands that I got at other stores as well that are 1 inch circles, squares, stars, etc.
  8. Oh, oh, oh, it happened! Hooorrraaaaayyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!
  9. Certainly, at least for the purpose of the agree upon thread, we can get some love between the cat and the dog, can't we? My lovely Anna Bell (ragdoll cat) and my handsome Saint Nick (sheltie dog) know how to love and get along.
  10. OK, take it back...this is the agree upon thread. We are agreeing.
  11. I like to give them to any cache that made my day of caching worth the gas money. We were caching on vacation and got really torn up by cactus, poison ivy, thorny vines, and stinging nettles...not to mention the abundance of bugs because it was a coastal swampy region. We could not believe how harsh the conditions were with terrain rating of 1 or 1.5. Anyway, when we got to an ammo can that we were able to reach where no one was injured in locating it we were so happy and delighted it got a fav and we filled it up with swag. The rest of our favs go to places we will go to again just because we liked the location so much or because the hide or container was so clever we would take our geocaching friends there.
  12. Would love a Canada Badge. Will add an engraved stone that says peace.
  13. I just want to say again that I have the geocaching.com app on several types of phones with the adapter app to modify my compass and it works extremely well, better than my Nuvi.
  14. There are tons of punches in different sizes at craft supply shops in the scrapbooking section. What size are you looking for? I have a wide variety of sizes and if you know any scrapbookers, you might find one you can borrow.
  15. Hhhhmmm, well that is what we are doing. We have made up baggies that are color coordinated with all sorts of toys including toddler sunglasses, dinosaurs, porcupine things, rubber duckies, etc. We put in a tag that says Amphibian Trackers and try to fill up whatever caches that are large enough to hold our swag. Now, to get some free time to get back out there.
  16. While I have not been to international locations caching I do use google translate often.
  17. OK, I totally agree that many bugs have their place, especially VWs, Paul, John, George and Ringo. Well, we might agree that we all like the dog and its OK if the dog doesn't like everybody. But, what about GeoBrain? Do we agree about his name?
  18. OK, so we ~almost~ agree that we don't like spiders, ticks, gnats or no seeums. I would like to add, for the purpose of discussion, the possibility of adding roaches to the agreed upon do not like list with the exception that WarNinjas has an appreciation for their business possibilities. There is a lovely cacher here that places plastic ones as a signature item. Even that creeps me out.
  19. Oh, I love lighnin' bugs! The last time we were out caching at a cemetery at night, that was my favorite part. I over looked all of my mosquito bites because of the joy of watching them flash on and off in the dark of the night. It would seem we could add fire flies to our list of approved agreed upon bugs.
  20. Moths (+1) Butterflies (+1) Caterpillars (+1) Dragon flies (+1) Mantids (+1) Walking Sticks (+1) Beetles (+1) Grasshoppers (+1) Crickets (+1) Centipede (-1) they creep me out Millipede (-1) ditto Spiders (~) if they stay in their space and I stay in mine Katydids (?) I have never known one before. Lots of cools bugs
  21. This is a commonly asked question that will have a wide variety of responses. The answer is that apparently it can be done. It is up to the individual cache owners to validate logs or not (its their choice). Some people care a lot, others believe that everyone should be left to play the game as they wish.
  22. That a username and password is required to post. of course. It is okay to agree with previous postings, right? OK, I am pretty sure we can agree that it is OK to agree with previous postings.
  23. LOL, well we could start making a list of common approved of bug types. 1. Ladybugs (even if they are guys) 2. Butterflies 3. Dragonflies 4. Travel bugs 5. ___________?
  24. OK, so do you like all bugs or can we put some on the do not like list like tics? Second question, do we all agree that GeoBain is now GeoBrain and he needs to edit his name?
