  1. Hi Kini, If you're still looking for swag, I can bring down some NWOG stuff (we've got coins, pathtags and iron-on patches.) See you on Friday. shroomAzoom
  2. So, there was a massive hail storm that passed through Ontario late this past weekend. In Thunder Bay, stones the size of ping pong balls were dropping all over the place. The Trans Canada Highway that passes right by was covered, in some places two inches thick. I was out hiding caches earlier (it was a nice day) and was glad to be back safe at home when the hail came down. Did anyone get caught in it in other parts of the province? I saw there were hail storms down in the southern and western parts of Ontario too. Here's a link to a video shot of the storm.
  3. Thanks! Mmm, not quite. I'd like to be able to give a link to others that goes directly to my stats tab of my profile. Presumably something with my guid in it. For example, this link goes to *my* profile: http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?guid=168c15c4-cc96-4916-9513-7d66a336968a But what about a link that goes to *my* profile statistics? Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but try this: http://www.geocaching.com/my/statistics.aspx
  4. Is there a way to link directly to our stats tab of our profile page?
  5. I've always been curious. I used to imagine that reviewers were just folks like me, who worked regular day jobs and then came home to do all the work of reviewing. From what I've just read, I'm wondering... even though the reviewers are volunteers, perhaps reviewing geocaches is what they do all day long. Perhaps like a retired person? I'm just so curious. Is reviewing caches a "full-time (volunteer) job" for some of the reviewers in Ontario or Canada?
  6. Hi all, In less than a couple weeks, I'll be driving up the Missippi from St Louis to Minneapolis along the Great River Road. I was hoping to do a bunch of caching along the way. Has anyone created a route (a la caching along a route) for that section of the Great River Road? I'm from Canada and not too familiar with this area, but it appears that the GRR is a scenic highway system made up of sections of other highways (so it isn't just a matter of creating a route in Google Earth from St Louis to Minneapolis along HWY 35 (for example.)) Any thoughts? Anyway, I'm looking forward to nabbing some caches in states I haven't cached in before. Thanks for any suggestions! Darren
  7. I'm heading down with my wife to Duluth in a couple weekends from Thunder Bay, ON. We're only going to be there for a day or so and would like to hunt down a handful of caches. The kind of caches we'd really be interested in finding are clever hides, unique containers/camouflage, caches that really stand out from the rest. Would anyone like to recommend a few? Thanks a lot! shroomAzoom
  8. Just wanted to voice my interest in being able to benchmark hunt in Canada.
  9. Not only is it a cool code, the cache is a fantastic series. Gimpstick (the cache owner) has been releasing a new Dread Pirate Roberts cache every month or so since last fall. Each one has added a new puzzle type. He's dropped hints that it will wrap up sometime this year with a final puzzle cache that will involve revisiting each cache in the series to pick up clues. Naturally, I'm very much looking forward to it. Makes me happy to think of the great caching community we have up here in Thunder Bay, you might want to visit sometime.
