  1. I have learned that lesson the hard way also. But here is the real hard part. The post offices here in Indianapolis will allow me to add tracking to one of my 6x9 mailers for .65 or what ever it is because they consider a bubble mailer to be a rigid package. So I covered myself and shipped all of my coins with the tracking on it. Then disaster struck.

My packages started getting returned postage due. When the coins started hitting some post offices across the country, they saw them as letters. Well letters cannot have tracking on them unless they are sent priority mail. So that means to ship a single coin with tracking it would be about $5.50.

Darned if you do, darned if you don't. And I would rather use another word there. So I have already took a $100 in losses the last 2 months and I am looking at another $40 one that is being disputed now.

I don't know what to do either. The post office's on regulations say bubble wrap mailers can and should be considered letters becasue they are flexible. But since post offices across the country see them differently and they are playing by 2 different sets of rules, I do not see a way of winning.

Well, now I partly understand why on a e place purchase, I had to pay an extra $4 for shipping because of the local postal persons interpretation of the rules. Irritating when making the purchase pay for shipping, then got stuck having to pay again to ransome the coin from the Post Office.

  2. Greetings, Even though the posts have strayed from coins, I am going to Vegas for a work trip in January. This is perfect information! Yes, I will be taking coins to exchange in caches. Know any good TB/coin hotels?

WIll have Wednesday afternoon free, THursday PM, Friday, Saturday free for exchanging trackables.

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas!!!!!

  3. So great reading the thoughtful wishes for TnT. Prayers, candels, and well wishes will help lift the families spirits. Remember, to help the Tony recover, the family first has to take care of themselves. Remember to take breaks, laugh and cry over funny memories in the past. Share meals and refreshements, take a nap. Let those who are close and able to do "errands" provide service for you. Everybody "Pays it forward" in their own unique way.

Remember, even though Tony is unconscioius, talk to him about all the well wishes, the beautiful Christmas trees, decorations, funny jokes, cards received in the mail, anything, watch old movies, espically the ones that make us all laugh. The power of the human voice carries a great message in healing.

  4. Who to be thankful for: combination of cachers and non-cachers.

Non-cachers: my brother Doug, oh, as kids he was treated so badly, two against one, now he is so extremely important to me. Can call him anytime of the day and he will listen! THanks Doug.

Cachers: Zoejam72-great mentors for caching and teaching me to look beyond the pink mohawk hair to see great wonderful people and cachers

Eskoclimber-for teaching/mentoring about GSAK and Delorme Street Atlas mapping program.

Mousekakat and Rocking Roddy-for staying active in the coin forums and honesty about tough financial situations. As an adult, I continue to learn lifelong lessons, "I might me poor, but can hold my head high" THanks for your participation and posts.

Oh, there are more options, but these are the current tops on my list.

  5. Thanks for all who post receiving the packages. The two missions arrived this week.

First from tasia: thanks for the fruit/vegetable, chocolate comes from a bean, so has to be good. Hmm, but it is a chocolate orange. Like chocolate and oranges. New experience having chocolate that tastes like orange. Oh, the great coins. Beautiful Alabama coin, great colors. The Christmas ammo box coin- have seen both sides other places, just didn't know the flip side of each was actually one. Oh, the CB personal coin-just like to coin and one from the seeking list. THanks

    From Anthus, the Secret Santa!!!!!

Oh, coin heart skipped many beats, oh, my, my, my. The desired Laptop coins! No more trying to get trades from Anthus! Thanks for Santa for the assistance completing the entire set of laptops. The little ammo can, nice to see one in person versus on a web page. The little yellow GW5 chick, reminds me of PEEPS. That is a compliment.

Oh, and chocolate! A moment on the lips and a lifetime on the hips. Off to the gym next because of Santa times two.

    Happy Holidays to all.
