  1. Yesterday we hit a cache that hadn't been found since last October. Grabbed a gc that was in it. Then had to grab it from the person whose hands it was in. He emailed us immediately. "where did you find it?" He had been to Alberta last fall; left it in the cache; forgot he left it there. Thought it was somewhere in his GC bag. He replied that the cache he had left it in was it's 50th. But he had visited it to 330 more caches in Nova Scotia; when it was in Alberta. I don't know if he caches with a phone or a gps; but I thought of this thread when I received his email.
  2. The paid app is worth it. All my finds have been with iPhone 4 and paid app
  3. Thanks I enabled again with explanation and will hope for the best.
  4. Boogity was published first time with no issues. I haven't tried other maps for checking.
  5. It's near a very large rock between the road and trees. The rock has a plaque on it and was dedicated to the settlers in the area, specifically the ones that donated land specified as green space, who happen to be related. Boogity would probably be closer to the road than rock, but still a few meters away.
  6. It's a cache called rock of ages N 52 16.243 W 113 44.995
  7. Last fall I obtained coordinates with my iPhone 4 to place a cache. I then called a friend that has a Gps to confirm them. They were corrected a little. When I tried to submit the reviewer said it showed in middle of street. I then tried to use google earth; reviewer agreed to new placement obtained from google earth and we published. First looker that day called and told me the coordinates were in middle of road. I disabled the cache. Now that it's spring I have had two separate friends do gps readings for me again. They both agreed . So I enable again and reviewer once again tells me it's in middle of road. It's Not! How do I get this cache published; or do I have to give up on a very special historical placement? I have followed my friends coordinates and they took me within 1 meter of the cache. And about 5 meters off road.
  8. It bothers me more on the forums than it does on caches.
  9. An awesome coin and sentiment
  10. My daughters. Was grabbed today and is moving!!!!
  11. We have a find yesterday and today things are looking up.
  12. Love John Force that man can out talk anything alive
  13. Welcome to the pit in the great white north. I'm further south than Edmonton, hope you find some closer cachers
  14. This idea has been borrowed from the UK board. The theme this month is "odd things while caching" we came across this one tree yesterday that elicited the comment from both of us " what is that" sure it was a tree but it looked like about four kinds grown together. Good luck and have fun! The rules are....., 1) The photo must be cache related and to do with a specific Canada cache (any type including events), caching series or caching trip - please include a link to the cache or the GC.... code so we can see where the picture relates to. 2) Two photos per caching team or cacher. (Maybe 3 if you really have an extra pic that's great!) 3) A new thread is started each month, with the OP stating these rules. 4) The winner each month is decided by the winner from the previous month - the new winner starting the thread for the subsequent month. They may set a theme* if they wish. For this the initial month the other three members of Team Pixos will pick the winner. 5) Photos should be recent preferably taken in the current month. 6) This month the competition runs from the 1st of the month, until Apr 29. This should give sufficient time for the winner (or other person if necessary) to start the new thread. If you haven't already uploaded a photo, a good tip might be to upload to one of your log entries (it can just be 'post a note'). Then, display the photo and copy the URL to provide a link to the post. If it's not actually relevant to the cache you've used, delete the note and the photo - the URL will still work. On this forum, add a reply and click the small green tree icon above the text box and paste in your URL. Let's get some awesome shots from across Canada.
  15. Only time I will do something is if I see online the guy logged my cache in Alberta and one in south Carolina and one in Mexico all on one date. If his name isn't in my logbook it gets deleted.
  16. Yah yah yah I'll log my DNFS then I watch list them then when they are actually found I get notified and can avenge my DNFS
  17. Save the caches you intend to find for use offline. Then just use them from that location. Works for me
  18. My daughter and I went out today for seven hours. Our DNFS rate was higher than it has ever been. We were looking forward to some country caching but even caches with easy, simple, etc couldn't be found by us. Is it a spring issue? Our snow is just going. And the sizes were from can size to nanos.
  19. Are those arrows at the bottom? Where or who had them?
  20. My daughter and I each released a bug in Hawaii, mine was picked up visited a couple caches then has been static in the hands of someone. DD hopped over to California went to a cache and hadn't been heard from since. It's hard to lose them. Good luck on yours.
