  1. That was almost a year ago now I mean maybe not a finished feature but a partial rollout can't be too far away if progress is actually being made.
  2. Hi All, I have been caching for some time now and there are many puzzle caches I have solved but not yet got around to going to find. I forget about the location of these caches even when I have the coords because they are not represented on the Geocaching map on the web so when I am planning a caching trip out I often visit areas near where I could get a puzzle cache but just forget as I do not realise how close one is to where I am visiting. So here is my suggestion. When a user inputs their corrected coordinates (regardless of whether they are correct) a green ? icon appears on the map at that location. This would be saved with a users account so the icon would appear no matter where and when the user signed in. This would make it a lot easier for many people. So come on guys, do you agree? is this something the powers that be should implement? if we can make this topic huge something might actually happen........
  3. Hi. I use the geocaching maps and usually it's fine. Both google and leaflet function properly except when I put leaflet into the OSM view. All the caches still appear but you cannot click on them, nothing comes up as in all the other modes. I have tried this on several browsers and computers, what is going wrong
  4. just let us use our own API keys which are free until you go over 25,000 visits a day, which as a single user, you wont
  5. one question, I just submitted a cache and when you put in the coords and press show on map, it is google maps which is used! on a side note, why cant we all sign up for our own API key and then be given an option to enter it on our profiles which then adds google maps to the list
  6. if im in the right place, registering a maps api key is free until you blow the 25,000 limit. correct me if im wrong, but just force users who want to use google maps to enter their own API for the maps to load
  7. i was pretty annoyed when I saw this but Google have started charging for use of its maps, see http://blog.geocaching.com/ and scroll to "We are the .35%"
  8. After the tragic loss of google maps which I used a lot for the road aspect of finding a cache we have now changed to MapQuest which in my opinion is a really ugly mapset. It would be great if the default map was to be changed from mapquest to OpenStreetMap as this looks similar to google maps and has much more information in the way of hiking trails which are updated on a regular basis by the community. I think it would be much better to have this as the default.
  9. guys, why not just change the map view to OpenStreetMap. This looks similar to google maps and has much more info including trails for hiking which are updated on a regular basis my the community.
  10. hi guys, i recently got a garmin etrex 20 which is good but the included basemap is pretty basic. Can anyone reccomend a good free map for use with this device??
