I have done this on several cruises. I looked for caches close to where the ship comes in. There are several right on the dock on different islands. I can send you a list of the ones I found if you like. Check your ports of call and search the Geocaching.com site. I never wandered too far into the wilds unless I had the good luck to combine a tour and a cache.

I guess I suddenly got younger (I wish). Looks great now. I didn't do a thing.

I guess I'm showing my age or something, but I find it almost impossible to read the "Search for" area in the directory. Why are the fonts so small, and why were colors chosen that don't contrast?

A container containing the coordinates and placed under the rock would be better.

If I understand what you want correctly, try the GSAK program. -
What Is The Average Age Of A Geocacher?

65, hoping to make 66 next month. -
The clipboard thing usually works well. One exception was when I was in a park looking with my GPS and clipboard and an elderly gentleman came along and accused me of wanting to turn "his" park into condos. Oh, the temptation to say that's exactly what I was doing!

So sorry to hear this. I have enjoyed many of his caches. He will be missed by the community. My best to his family. Ken

What El Diablo said, I second. I own the same unit as you.

Ontario War Memorials

Wow, this is really expanding from my original idea. I don't think I would be competent to lead where this seems to be going. I would be willing to serve, however. -

Thanks for the interest. This is the link I was looking at. http://www.cdli.ca/monuments/on.htm -
Another way to go at it is to click "View in Google Earth" at the bottom of the View panel in Map Source. Then save as a KML file from Google Earth. I have to do this from Map Source as I can't get the file to upload directly from this program. The "save as" function in Map Source insists on saveing the file under another icon, and this seems to baffle the upload function. I use the above as a workaround.

I submitted a pq request yesterday. No result. I reviewed my query today and reset the distance from the route to 2 miles instead of 0.5 miles. Set the day for today. Got an instant result in my email. Make of this what you will, but it worked today.

Yes, I once spent a long, tiresome time finding the right way out to the car. The GPS showed where it was, but trying to find the right way to it through a maze of trails was something else. The terrain didn't allow for bushwhacking. I have since thought I should take a quick waypoint at each fork of the trail. Now If I could only follow my own advice...

I carry a clip board quite often, but once in a park, an older gentleman approached me and asked if we were going to start building condos. Took me a while to convince him otherwise.

I second the motion on PQ's. -
If you have a Garmin GPS map 76Cs make sure you check out the calibrating the compass feature, especially after changing or re-charging batteries. Fairly often the compass arrow on the "go to" screen is pointing 180 degrees in the wrong direction.

I take back what I said above. Now I'm getting the same problem.

They seem to be working ok in Windows XE - maybe a little slower than usual.

Thanks for the info on Postal Codes.
