  1. I think you can use a gpsbabel transform for this. Yes !!! Thank You it works like a charm.
  2. Is there ant easy way to convert a track log (Garmin Gdb file) to a route in Mapsource ? The file has 182 tack-points, I would like to convert it to a route.

  4. I also switched over from Mag. recently. I immediately noticed the Topo software that came with my Vista (Non-C) lacked nearly all street detail in my area. If you run on the base map only (turn off topo maps) you may notice the street detail is MUCH better than the topo with regard to Highways. I tried this in SE. TX and it works well. I also used Neo_Geo's registry hack to access the disks from the H/D and it works flawlessly!!
  5. TXGA has some documents for print under the "Tools" section.
  6. Why the Groundspeak store of course BTW it's Geocacher
  7. I can create a new database, but how do I Move entries to it? After you create the new DB, return to the original DB, select database from the top menu, click copy/move waypoints, an applet will open allowing you to choose a destination database, If you Move the wpts it will remove them from the original DB. If you Copy wpts the original DB will remain in tact.
  8. This one inspired an image today - - I hope I have the who's who correct.... I love that one, comic book style! Freebee is an adult male. 007 is a 10 yr old boy.
  9. If you want fast notice on new caches try :Thot's First To Find Utility
  10. Being familiar with that particular store layout, I couldn't help but notice that you took a stroll through the TOY dept. However I would like to commend you for using the "Enter" door for your entrance and the "Exit" door for your exit!
  11. I love Treasure Island, come down to Houston and drop off some of those!
  12. Good Deal!! If I ever upgrade my paperless genre, Cachemate would be the 1st application installed. Love it on the Palm!
  13. Return to your main search page, check the boxes (on the right side) of the caches that you want to download, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click download waypoints.
  14. Until you are ready for it remove GSAK, Control panel-remove programs-GSAK etc. It must be set as your default loc. file handling software? GSAK is the ultimate wpt. manipulation program, but it has a steeper learning curve than EasyGps. When you want to do more than send wayponts to your GPSr, GSAK is where it's at!
  15. Download EasyGps it's free. When you download a loc. file it will open, you can then send it to your GPSr. It does not get any simpler than that!
  16. Check (box) the caches you want to filter, run a filter (user flags set), export to Cachemate file.
  17. I recently jumped ship (Magellan) and bought a Garmin (Vista non "C"). The map software that came with the deal is Mapsource Topo. It seems to have a wealth of detail, pipelines, power-lines, streams etc. but many of the local roads don't appear to be marked or labeled. For example Hwy 99 (W of Houston,TX.) a major state highway is absent, yet FM 1464 ( a nearby 2 lane side road) is visible at nearly any zoom level. Shouldn't the Topo map have at least as much detail as the basemap? Prior to loading the maps I felt would be most useful to me, all of the major highways were shown on the basemap ie. Hwy 99, which is now absent on the Gpsr. The software seems to be as user friendly as I felt Mapsend was and has more bells and whistles. Do I have something set incorrectly or is this a Topo vs. City map thing? I would like a small amount of city map info (Houston) but the Mapsource city maps are high dollar IMO. Is there a cheaper alternative or did I make a mistake somewhere along the way? I would prefer a map with more street detail. Is there is anyway to create a city map that will work with this unit? I already own MS S & T, but from what I read this is not happening.
  18. I gotta think GSAK is a must have, it allows complete manipulation of the waypoints. Create yourself a Pocket Query (in Gpx. format) and give it a try. After you get the Gpx. loaded into GSAK,you can export the files to your palm via pdb. file. (You DO have Cachmate don't you?) Send them to your GPSr Create map files for nearly any mapping software. If you only want to transfer them to the GPSr try "Easy Gps"
  19. Are you still doing this? We would be interested in a different one. I lack the creativity and talent to do this type of thing. Is there an application?
  20. The 315 should be great for Geocaching. There is a firmware updated for the 330 that may work in the 315 (V4.0) that enables WAAS. I personally run with the WAAS turned off most of the time The 315 map storage capacity is small by todays standards. Here is a review of the 315 Magellan 315 There is also an active Yahoo group for the 330/315 with many files and downloads These units can usually be purchased cheap enough to be resold without a loss.
  21. Log in Click on your name (upper Rt hand corner) Click update home coords (Rt column near top) Have at it!
