  1. I believe this discussion is more about the general disappearance of coins, and less related to the specific issue that you mention.
  2. Maybe because TB's are someone else's property, and it's not exactly fair to them when they are stolen or go missing...
  3. Stinging nettle... Unpleasant, but not as awful as some of the stuff others have described.
  4. I have one, which is rarely logged, but have logged others. In fact, I don't recall the last time someone else logged it. I log it through my finds, though.
  5. I have a browser on the phone, but it's slow, and I have never been able to log into the WAP site.
  6. I DEMAND you replace yourself! Reviewer, replace thy self!
  7. So is there an alternative for those of us without smart phones?
  8. I use the text marks function all the time, and today when I sent one out, I got a message back saying " We work everyday to make Geocaching better. Sometimes that means we have to disable projects that the majority of geoc" (it cuts off at that point.). Does this mean that this function is being removed from the site?
  9. They did that to another nearby cache: Milton St. Cache. So I'm on the aquatic mammal's side vis. motivation for the log, just not very worked up as I don't have a dog in the fight. I noticed it seems like they did not even bother to read the fact that it was archived or that the cache owner had indeed responded. Had I been the cache owner, their "find" would have been deleted.
  10. This happened to me recently. You need to go to Twitter and Revoke access to Geocaching.com and then reauthorize geocaching.com to access your twitter account. I tried this and it still did not resolve the issue.
  11. I discovered this is happening recently, as well.
  12. Yes, it was a glitch during the release that has been corrected (and was not part of the improvements to reviewer tools mentioned in the notes). Ok, thanks!
  13. I can see unpublished cache icons on the map. Reported in this thread And it's been fixed...
  14. The new ones are pretty close, and I certainly prefer them to the flat ones that are the current ones on cache pages for found logs.
  15. Who's Miranda? You have a pair of them...
  16. Paging Mr. Bumstead, Mr. Dagwood Bumstead... Except I bet they would never fit one of his sandwiches! I bet it would take a large!
  17. Just out of curiosity, has anyone notified law enforcement about these thefts? It's getting way out of hand.
  18. Someone found the cache of mine that the German cacher characterized as a small, and they discovered that there was a nearby letterbox that could be described as a small, so I suspect that's what the German cacher found.
  19. That's the trend I'm starting to notice. I can see it both ways on sizing by the container vs including the camo, as the total size would decide where you look, but then the container would dictate what you can put in it. Perhaps basing it on whether the container is fixed to the camo or not would make sense.
  20. I have a cache that I consider a micro which uses a large bison tube to hold the log book and only has room for the log book, and I had someone recently (from Germany), say that they did not think it was a micro. I was looking for another cache today, that was listed as a small, but I think it's more of a micro. I have another cache that's physically a regular size, but I consider it a small because it has only storage room for a log book and a few small trinkets or trackables. It makes me wonder how we define these sizes?
  21. There are multiple KML macros, including ones that produce 1/10 (528 feet) mile circles that are handy for planning cache locations.
  22. Thermocouples aren't very complicated: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermocouple. You might be able to make one yourself with simple materials that could then drive an electric motor that would lower the bison tube.
  23. My Peter Cottontail's Adventure cache is in the same position, though it's a true multi (not an offset) and not difficult. It is my most favorited cache.
  24. How long have you had these batteries? After a while, rechargeable batteries lose their ability to hold a charge.
