  1. Oregon 400t is drying out slowly, but I fear it may have to be operated on.
  2. Coming up on three years behind schedule now, massively over budget and still not working properly. Still, the EGNOS experience gives us a good way of forecasting how GALILEO will go... Implementation date: 2010 Budget: Eur 3,250,000,000 So that'll be.... Implementation: 2013 (but probably even later.) Cost: Eur 7,500,000,000 (and counting.) -Wlw Just think how many ammo cans could had been bought for us instead!
  3. You think he's an addict? Ask him about his "consecutive days caching..." ...only 272 days.
  4. Lets hope they do put a stamp on the package! I wish you well. A big parcel is on its way.
  5. I have recently placed a regular size cache in London which is suitable for dropping off your TBs, it's; GC10 - Tower Bridge Shame you didn't come to England earlier this month as you could have dived for my GPSfrom here.
  6. Is there something you didn't tell us goldpot? Forgot to apply the handbrake when you went back for the retrieval, did we?!
  7. This is my picture of the month! Read all about it here
  8. The GPS is in intensive care at the moment, it's on a drip! Found! The splash.
  9. Good news, Chris found my GPS very quickly, as expected, in the depths of the marina. Covered in slim I washed it with tap water, but the sea water had seeped into the device. The salt water reacted with the battery power and dissolved one of the battery terminals! The GPS is now sitting in fresh water to remove all traces of the salt then will have a drying out period, so, not out of the woods yet! However, the chip still reads! Still, it turned out to be a great day back down in Poole Harbour, Chris and his mates were great company and many thanks for retrieving the GPS, it’s a shame we couldn't treated this as a 5* CITO event! Pictures will follow later as it has now gone midnight and I got work in the morning!
  10. I'll try and do so! I'm just worried that I may dro........
  11. And remember our Bobbies (well, most) don't carry guns, so you won't get shot playing this sport in London.
  12. Update: We are going to have a look this Thursday 21/10/10. You may come and watch with me at noon. Location; is at Salterns Marina, Liliput. N50'42.240 W001'56.950. I would had have made it an event, but it is too short notice. OK, a show of hands that we will find it and the GPS will function (with a fresh set of batteries of course).
  13. I've found ASK to be helpful (I bought both my GPS units from them). The trouble is you won't get a satellite lock in their shop on Tottenham Court Road, and without some form of security they are unlikely to let you take a GPS unit outside to get a lock. Goldpot will probably drop it anyway! Oi, you! I know your coordinates.
  14. Could try looking at 'Ask' on Tottenham Court Road. Ask here
  15. So, in a vain attempt to bring this post on-topic, the if the OP gets the Oregon back, whether the device will work remains to be seen but if there's a microSD card in there, it should be fine! Indeed there is...and with the final coords to some puzzle caches!
  16. ...it's easy for you; you can go for TFTF then publish the cache!
  17. In my case it always updated immediately...until a few days ago.
  18. I got permission from the harbourmaster for a dive...he claims you can see the bottom at low tide! Can I make my GPS a one off Geocache??? I know the precise coords!
  19. I can also claim the furthest; Sydney, Australia, some 10559.3 miles from home! Geocaching World Tour 2009 - Sydney
  20. I organised an event in Gibraltar and only one team turned up...from Yorkshire! The Overandout couple. Anglo-Gibraltarian Exchange Event
  21. I just bought one of those a couple days ago as a replacement! Should I drop this one the sea too I will be in contact!
  22. Thanks for all your encouragement. I will make contact with Chris...I could do with a couple of pints too! []
