  1. Waaaaaait a second! Are you trying to say that despite his claims of discrimination that he has had two caches published here? That can't possibly be true because it would blow his argument about reviewer bias out of the water. I've been quietly watching this and the NE thread... Not only does he have 2 other caches published, he posted RULES on them about it being on state game lands and has listed the rules (i.e. blaze orange, etc) and the other in a park (i.e. closed dusk til dawn, etc). Now obviously the OP only wants to follow rules/regulations/guidelines that he likes...and should be able to ignore the ones he doesn't like.
  2. The site is NOT down...the links on the cache pages are wrong. The link is pointing to: http://www.jeep.com/details/coord/translate.cgi?datum=83&lat=41.7382&lon=-88.062667&detail=1 and it should be: http://www.jeeep.com/details/coord/translate.cgi?datum=83&lat=41.7382&lon=-88.062667&detail=1 Note the correct link is jeeep.com (3 e's), not jeep.com Yes, the link was incorrect, I submitted a bug about that, but the site www.jeeep.com was also down at the time. Everything is ok now.
  3. Hello, The conversion link is down for gc.com cache pages. I already submitted a ticket to Groundspeak. Here are two sites I found for conversions: http://www.fcc.gov/mb/audio/bickel/DDDMMSS-decimal.html http://www.cosports.com/tools/gps_coords.htm I don't think either of them are as user friendly as jeEep.com was, but they may work at a temporary band-aid. Does anyone have any better site to use?
  4. I also agree that this would be a wonderful attribute, and would most likely tip me over the edge and actually pay out the $3 a month. I currently have to hear through the grapevine where the 4x4 caches are. Some cacehs I have figured out that I could have driven my Jeep back there. Thanks.
  5. I have to agree with dsmyhubby. There are soo many great ones in Venango County and the surrounding area, that it would take way too long to list.
  6. The only problem is that 'IF' you were to get shot, you wouldn't have heard the shot being fired. So hearing shots fired is probably a good thing.
  7. I know that I would do one like any of those pics in here. I've done a natural cave one that was most fun, GCH249 Umbrella Rock and is the closest cache to my house.
  8. I live on I-80 and go past there occationally, I'll check it out. It's goldsnoop-pa and he has tons of caches, doesn't suprise me that he just archived it and didn't check on it.
  9. I'm a 27 year old male Performance Analyst (in IT) and cache with my 25 year old fiance. We have seen only a few people out caching, and one was a mother with two kids and a guy friend, and the other was an early 40's guy (who i know has a child that caches). Of our 140 or so finds, 75% we are together, 20% me by myself and 5% her by herself. I'm agnostic and conservative. I've gotten 2 coworkers to start caching and one of them got their family into it as well. I also took my brother and his friend out and now they cache too.
  10. 27.3 miles and here, I thought it would be further away... Filtering out finds: 32.0 miles...too bad most of my finds are 50 or so miles from my house near where I work.
  11. These are some of my favorites: Cathedral Rock Indian God Rock The Brickyard Bullion Run Deer Rock Freedom Falls The Beer Well Porterfield Furnace edit to fix URL's
  12. I also believe that you can enter TBxxxxx and get the corresponding Travel bug as well.
  13. I believe that this is done by design, since a friend of mine can get a TB or coin, I can discover it and he can then place it, where he picked it up in say, OHIO, and I discovered it at work, say in PA, and then he places it in OHIO. My question to you is, now how does GC.COM know where the TB was when i discovered it? The same thing can be said for Grabbing it from somewhere else. The only way the website knows where (what state) the TB is in, is only when it's placed in a cache (well one that doesn't move anyway).
  14. I would also like to add: cathedral Rock Indain God Rock The Brickyard
  15. I use a camelbak. I do fill it with ice cubes, and it stays cool most of the day. I only put water in it. I'm happy with it, and i have no issues with my back being any more than damp, and I only really notice it after I take it off. I have one question though, are there any ill side effects to freezing the bladders?
  16. I used to be able to see 35 but never get a lock on it. I know its down, but I only see 51 and get a lock on it. Is it better to use 51 even if it has test data or turn WAAS off, until that bird is fully functional?
  17. LMAO! But seriously, why do people think they can log a find for a cache when they clearly haven't found it...sheesh...
  18. The problem is that I don't have those options in FX. Can anyone clear this up for me? You probably don't have the Greasemonkey extension installed. You need to do that first, reboot the browser, then you can install scripts. That would be the problem, thanks!
  19. I'm not sure that TB "remains" are real. They might be, but Uncle Elwyn and some of the writing come from a Barenaked Ladies song. To remain OT, I'm planning a puzzle/offset cache in a cemetary, the actual container will be on the cemetary property but in the woods. The grave stones used for the puzzle can all be seen from concrete road or sidewalk to help protect and respect the "residents" and their families.
  20. I was looking at the script pages, and it tells you how to install the script. The problem is that I don't have those options in FX. Can anyone clear this up for me?
  21. So how did this person get another Icon? One of them is only a week old. Find that out, and then maybe you can do that for your cache series?
  22. I have the same thing on my 60CS, but I don't have the most recient version of the software. I'm going to update my GPSr and go from there.
