  1. Most Army Surplus places and Princess Auto to start at least
  2. Do it as a Multi, a two stage. Write the coords for the second stage on a piece of stainless steel with a welding rod and anchor it at the bottom or on shore and toss it in the deep.
  3. Geocachers would have to 'find' a set number of caches, maybe 30-50 before they could hide a cache and all cache hides would be have to be inspected by at least two or three cachers before being published.
  4. At 9:49 PM EST New Brunswick 365 Nova Scotia 347 Prince Edward Island 21 Newfoundland 0 While I had no idea this challenge was going on I did place ONE Geocache GC10M04 in Newfoundland, actually the Labrador portion, and it is Winter friendly. I seem to think there were another three placed in the timeframe as well. VO2WW

  7. I sort of thought they were minor, moderate and severe but maybe superficial is correct. Severe is correct as is Moderate. I was in emergency once when a chap came in and was treated for moderate to severe frostbite losing several toes. My nephew also lost a few bits some years ago.
  8. I rate the terrain as 1 if you can get to the cache site in a wheelchair. The difficulty I have a bit of trouble with as several that I list as terrain 1 will require standing or bending to ground level to retrieve the cache. If it cannot be logged from the wheelchair I will list it as difficulty 1.5 at least.
  9. As I understood it in my USAF days, Wind Chill used to be based on time it took for water to freeze outside tops of weather stations. It was changed to measure effect on exposed skin at ground level in more recent years. No idea who invented it except to guess Weather Service guys?????
