  1. I bought the Leatherman Super Tool when it first came out and later added the tool kit, it stays in the glove box except when I go hiking or hunting. Later I got the Micra which is on my key king. Between them both they seem able to do a lot of things, maybe not well or fast but they do work when I am in a jam. I have field dressed, skinned and quartered a moose with my Super Tool when my partner forgot his knife purchased for this trip., damm hard on the hand though
  2. Yes but that only gives stats for cachers that use the stats box. I would like them using Geocaching.com data
  3. Is there a way to search to see who has the most hides in Canada? In Atlantic Canada? In Newfoundland and Labrador?

    Banning of GPS's

NL has a ban on cell phones that are not hands free, even the Premier got and paid a ticket for not obaying it.
  5. An they do ship to Canada. I bought two
  6. Nanos and Micros excepted I trade at best in 20% of my finds and leave a trinket in 80%. Mostly it is a US Silver Dollar, a Canadian Silver Dollar or Trade Dollars (just put 40 of each in holders) a Pathtag, a small wooden scroll scawed item or a crest. If the cache is low on 'quality' items I will often drop a few other bigger things or items I have collected. Sometimes I mention the trade or drop in the log, sometimes not. Yes it would be nice if everyone traded up or traded even.
  7. Remember the Golden Rule He who has the Gold makes the Rules In order to get a cache listed on GC.com, it has to fit with their idea of what is correct.
  8. I think that after 1971 the farthing had no value so today it would be worthless. The smallest coin today would be the 1p or 1 pee or 1 penny which was what the chap on the Penny Farthing bike meant I think, memory not the best anymore.
  9. Met a guy in Nova Scotia this past summer riding a Penny Farthing, in a chat with a tourist group he mentioned that the Farthing today was worth a Penny in todays currency, or at least that was what I understood
  10. You got it, quaint little village, popular with birdwatchers, nice tiny museum in either an old school house or a church
  11. The majestic and graceful Humpback is the most commonly sighted whale at Cape Spear. Their acrobatic displays always captivate and excite those privileged to catch a view of them. Visitors are also likely to see Minke and Fin whales. During the summer of 2002, Orcas were spotted at least four times with one pod having a minimum of 15 individuals! White-sided dolphins, Beaked dolphins, Porpoises, Harbour seals and Otters have all been seen from the most easterly point in Canada as well.
  12. Cape Spear is not a community, you got the rest correct though.
  13. Must be an age thing, it was less than a year and half ago!!!!!

  15. Keeping it in my area of the country............ What is the most extreme easterly community in Canada? Bonus point if you know the name of the most easterly Geocache in Canada Second Bonus point if you know who placed it.
  16. What ghost town lies at about the midpoint of Quebec's Highway 389? Gagnon What was its major industry before its death? Iron Ore mining What the heck was I doing there? Driving on a paved divided highway at the start/end of 88km of two lane blacktop
  17. When Leatherman came out with the Super Tool I stopped carrying my Swiss Army knife. I love it, cumbersome as heck to use a lot but it can do so much so well, always sharpened and cleaned as needed. I have the accessory kits for it, one in my glovebox and one in my backpack. I have the Leatherman Micra on my truck keys for the odd time when I cannot have the 'big boy'.
  18. Probally be a pain to mail them to Canada
  19. Garmin GPS Map60Cx Legend CHx You will need maps uploaded I use Topo Canada
  20. I only sign my name and the date on the paper log but leave more of an online log. I think the paper logs are going to end up muggled, missing or replaced sooner or later. As well few people will take the time to look at them. The online logs are forever and readly available to all. I also like to post a picture, hopefully something that relates to the cache or Geocaching. I always thank the hider for playing the game no matter what the quality of the cache. My log and exchange of swag, although I am a 90% leaver, is often colored by the quality of the hide or container, a poor cache may rate little more than TNLNSL but always a Thank you.
  21. I am thankfull for my limited 'good' health which has allowed me and spouse to enjoy a Thanksgivings Holiday with lots of Birdwatching and Geocaching.
  22. A Geocache in Death Valley? Without using the net I cannot give the name, if there is one there that is.
