Darn... Thanks for the help, I suppose there is no one to blame but myself since I didnt double check! I'll drop another $40 and get the right one. Its a shame there isnt a pc + cigarette adapter. Now what will I do with this adapter!? aggh.

I bought a legend C (love it) and a cigarette adapter + pc connector in one cable from amazon at the same time. The adapter was a link on the legend c page and it said "fits etrex and emap" so I didnt do much research - I trusted that amazon would sell an accessory for a product that fit on the same page that they sold the product... Basically I received the adapter and have no clue where it is supposed to fit, Ive checked out the manual and Im 85% sure I have the wrong $30 cable. This is the link to view the cable I bought... Can anyone tell me if this will fit somehow on my legend c, and/or if there is a cable for the legend c that has a cigarette charger plus pc cable? Thanks so much

Im new to this, but cant you buy a USB cable for a lot of these units? No color wont stop me but a serial connection will slow me down (im clever). I keep going back and forth between units... I just need something basic and simple for hiking/camping but I would love to have a gps/r in the car with me.

I wanted to be able to view stats like the EasyGPS program does but I also wanted to connect to view the map that was on my GPS/r. I didnt realize that the same port would handle both services, it was just a matter of the right program on the PC side. The reasearch will continue, Thanks so much!

Ive looked around but I cant find a thread on if/how to connect a gps/r unit to a computer to view what is on the gps/r. If someone could point me to a post or better yet, the phras-e-ology that companies use to list this technology. Im new to GPS and I think I'd like a etrex legend C but it would be a huge plus if I could view what was on my gps/r on my notebook. Thanks
