  1. My wife has acquired an Eee PC running Windows XP and has wireless capabilities. This PC is quite small but has a good size screen (great for us). I hear all kinds of programs for Palms, iPods but is there a all inclusive geocache program for PC's that will allow us to download cache page with logs, and maps. I found a way to create a geocache folder and get the information I need but it is combersome and takes time for every cache. We are looking for a program that will do all this for us in an orderly fashion. Instead of getting a Palm we would like to see if this little PC could work for us and it will head towards our goal of being paperless. Saltwaterfrogs (Ray and Rose)
  2. Hi Cachers In the Google Maps function on a Geocaching site the Satellite function is now portrayed as a Hybrid Image. We find this annoying and not necessary since we have the Map function already. When we try to print the Satellite image it just prints a form of map picture without the Sat. image. We find that in some cache hides that the Satellite image helps us a lot especially on some of the tough caches but now we can't print the Sat. image. We liked the Satellite function as it was before. Any response? The upgrade to the cache site is otherwise great. Saltwaterfrogs
  3. When this feature is used, all I get is a blank box with no information. What happened? Very recently I would get a map but had a few concerns on how it worked from before, but now I get nothing. Yikes!
  4. Same problem occuring with Google Map Lockups. Also when scrolling map east/west or north/south the "requesting geocaches" function does not work unless I use the zoom function which is becoming a pain in the butt.
  5. Saltwaterfrogs I am still struggling to get my Megallan SporTrak Color GPS to work using USB. I purchased the serial to USB cable for the Megallan with software. After trying all the great suggestions I still get the message " no data received from GPS". By directly connecting the GPS to serial port everything works OK, but when I try to use the USB cable and connect to my USB hub it does not respond. All the available setups have been tried and still no go. I even tried direct connection to the USB port on my CPU and no go. I am using EasyGPS to practice sending and receiving data to the GPS. Help. Anyone out there using the Serial to USB cable. Am I missing something?
  6. Thankyou for your reply. I tried your suggestions and everything looked ok until I tried to send/receive from my GPS. I still get a message "no data received from the GPS". Does this mean that the CPU is talking to the GPS and that it can't find data to transfer or does it mean communication is still not achieved.
  7. Help I have a Megallan SportrakColor GPS which came with a serial cable. I also purchased the serial to USB adapter with software drivers for the Megallan GPS. I loaded EasyGPS as a try to learn to transfer data to and from my GPS. The problem I have is that my GPS will not communicate with my CPU. I am using a USB hub to connect to the GPS. On EasyGPS there is a set up window but in communication links it doesn't give an option for serial to USB. Do I need to do something else?
