  1. Congrats! You'll be hitting your milestones faster and faster (it seems) after this!
  2. This is a MASSIVE retrograde step. I'm still reeling. Hope this one gets sorted really quickly. It's not only having to manually having to enter tons of waypoints - it's not being able to see "the big picture" when looking at maps. Having to flick between lots of caches to see which has the closest waypoint. Amen! Puzzle run on Tuesday - grabbing a 100 finds in a day! The pain!
  3. Oh, #1 is killing me! Going on a cache run this Tuesday - we're grabbing 100 puzzles in a day and my PQ doesn't download my corrected coordinates. Awful! I'll have to manually fix each one! And that won't guide me to the nearest puzzle as it goes by posted & not corrected coordinates! The timing is awful!
  4. I just saw that myself and am doing the Snoopy happy dance! Woot!
  5. It's not possible from the official Groundspeak app for the iPhone - my only pet peeve in a truly wonderful app. I'm constantly asking for this to be fixed - people would upload so much more often!
  6. Hi. I'd love to help. I''m very near Detroit, Michigan. Maybe you can return the favor and I can send one your way too? - Edit: I just emailed you
  7. Cool! I missed out on the first batch but was one of the lucky ones on Round #2. Even happier when I realized we keep the bigger & send out the smaller.
  8. I logged several caches using the app on my iPhone and none of the images uploaded to the site - bummer!
  9. I have simple requests: - A headlamp for night caching - More rite-in-rain notepads (I use for cache placement and onsite puzzle solving) - Sturdy, thick pants for caching in winter & deflecting pokey trees - those new gloves with pads on the pointer finger & thumb that let you log your finds on the iPhone without having to take your gloves off first Santa, I've been good this year!
  10. GCRM Basically, it's the owner saying they don't want to maintain the caches by themselves, and EXPECT people to leave throw-down caches instead of posting a DNF or 'Needs Maintenance'. When a CO lists a cache they agree to the following: http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx Geocache Listing Requirements / Guidelines Last Updated: September 18, 2012 2. Geocache Maintenance Owner is responsible for geocache listing maintenance. Owner is responsible for visits to the physical location. You are responsible for occasional visits to your cache to ensure it is in proper working order, especially when someone reports a problem with the cache (missing, damaged, wet, etc.), or posts a Needs Maintenance log. Temporarily disable your cache to let others know not to search for it until you have addressed the problem. You are permitted a reasonable amount of time – generally up to 4 weeks – in which to check on your cache. If a cache is not being maintained, or has been temporarily disabled for an unreasonable length of time, we may archive the listing. Thus any cache sporting the GCRM logo should probably be denied publication from the get-go. Unfortunately, threatening to not do maintenance is not the same as actually not doing it. Can someone share a GC of a cache that has this logo? I'm curious now.
  11. What's GcRM? Why is the logo infamous?
  12. My sister left this log on one of my cemetery caches - it cracked me up! http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=f644aff1-07ba-41be-bfde-d09d7d102244 The day started out lazy and relaxing, we went with the CO to a local burger place and thought we would try this one on for size for my #300 cache. The stroll through the cemetery was peaceful and we had a nice time visiting the monuments and getting the information from them for the puzzle. The only thing that was a little disturbing was the soft spots in the ground, but we figured that was from the wet weather. WE WERE WRONG! No sooner than we completed the puzzle and put the final coordinates into our GPS than we were set upon by TEH ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE! We ran from one place to another dodging zombies as we went and trying to make it to the GZ to get the cache and get out of there. I noticed the CO standing by a particular tree and cackling wildly, I figured that was the final and after punching a zombie dead in the face, raced that way! After molesting the tree while Snakeylicks kept the zombies from biting me, I finally found the devious cache. We signed it and quickly replaced it. Next we had to make it back to the car! As we lept over headstones and dodged the zombies we knew we wouldn't make it, we did make it to the mausoleum though! If you come for this cache, beware of the zombies. If you can spare a few extra minutes, can you push some food through the crack under the door? I think we'll be here for a while. SL, T4TC! There's a good picture too.
  13. Don't forget the Livonia Traveling Group! Their next meet is the first Wednesday in Sept at Laurel Park Mall. After a brief meet and raffle, we all pile into cars and cache selected caches. We've had a ton of newbies lately - you will learn a lot. http://coord.info/GC3T3KC
  14. After uninstalling and re-installing, I powered it off and back on again (not sure if this makes a difference). Good luck!
  15. Awesome! I'm now loving it - the app is so responsive now! Happy caching, 'cat! Signed, 'cat!
  16. Personally, big bugs tickle me. I've only seen them at Geobash - never had one in my hands. But I think I'd be intrigued by the challenge. My sister and I love to drive - LOVE to find a huge container to place it in
  17. Hi, Just wanted to put this out there in case anyone else has the same problem. I updated my iPhone app when the 5.0 release came out this weekend. Over and over again, it was SOOOOOOOO painfully slow! It would take anywhere from 10-15 minutes to boot up and then display the warning and finally allow me to search. Each time I kept agonizing over all the caches I was passing! So, I uninstalled it. Then re-installed it. Works beautifully and run SO much faster than the previous version. I still wish I could upload pictures with my trackable logs, though.... Hope someone finds this useful. ~scrapcat
  18. (sigh) I was so geeked to see this update, but I still can't upload a picture to a trackable log? Really? That just stumps me. It's the only thing left to make this the perfect app for me!
  19. Oh, I agree completely. I helped a friend solve a puzzle in Virginia (I'm in Michigan), but I would never consider claiming a smiley until I drive to Virginia and find it & sign the log myself.
  20. I just double checked - still free and if you search "geocaching challenges" it's the only one that appears.
  21. Hi, Are you talking Challenge (a type of Geocache) or a Challenge (take your picture in front of a wobbly bridge)? If It's the 2nd one, there is a great, free app for your iPhone/iPad (I have it on both of mine). Very simple interface and easy upload. You even get a cool superhero flying on your screen when you're successful. Hope this was the answer you were looking for.
  22. Awesome! And Happy Birthday!
  23. So cool! I'm a MIGO member and Chris Mackey fan Ordered one for myself and one for my sister - thanks!
  24. Wow, that's interesting. Hmmm.... I just log my ROT-13 coin cache-to-cache. I don't worry about the heading home part?
