  1. Your contrast may be off, try this. Be sure your batteries are installed right. Than turn on the unit by pressing the power button for at least 10 seconds. At this point it still may look as if the unit is not on. Push the up/down button in the up direction and watch the screen you should see the display return to normal. I hope this corrects your problem, I found out by accident that the contrast can be controlled from the system page by pushing the up/down buttons. I diden't read this little trick in the directions and when it happened to me I thought my unit was dieing. Good Luck !

Umm... the government seems to disagree with you, as the GPS SA policy statement is dated 9/17. Perhaps you could post your sources of information? Or maybe just check your facts.... Umm.... Source, In the time of war secercy is the weapon of choice. Facts.., 9/11 is a fact and has changed the way we ourselves, and our government see the rest of the world. So this is a pointless debate since accurcy can't be proven. It's nice chatting with you.

  4. Check out National Geographic Maps @ WWW.TOPO.COM, They have a great package for just that purpose Called TOPO-GPS.
  5. The problem you are having has to do with the Department of Defense random changes to the timing of the civilian satellite signal,(SA)Selective Availability. The end result is your waypoint location is always changing sometimes as much as 500 ft.
