  1. Hi i am in situation where someone has picked up a tb and not logged the grab. I have contacted them and they said they will drop it soon. If this person only logs the drop will the tb still move on the cache inventories. Any help is appreciated.
  2. I am about to place my first tb. I was wondering if there was a search or query i could do to find the caches around me that have been frequented the most. As my geokid is keen to get her tb moving around quickly. Cheers any help would be appreciated.
  3. Hi guys/girls, Just having a few thoughts about what to do when you reach saturation point and have found most of the caches in your area. On thought that has come to me is the use of trackables and moving them around through caches. This way double or even triple visiting caches isn't so much of a problem. I feel that it is just a interesting to play around with trackables as it is in actually finding a cache for the first time, and also more visits and revisits to a cache can help with upkeep. What I am getting at is how would I go about getting Geocachers in my area to look at this idea, and I would also welcome and opinions on this topic. BTW I am from the Hunter Valley area of NSW Australia. Anyway thanks for listening to my rant, and have fun out there.
  4. Thanks guys this has been very helpful. I will not be so discouraged not when my device points to somewhere that a cache simply wouldn't be. Many thanks
  5. I am currently using a Samsung Galaxy s3 as my GC device running Locus Map Pro. I seem to only be able to achieve an accuracy of about 5m (ie when I am at a predetermined point the compass says I still have about 5-7m to go). If I switch the gps of and than restart my accuracy seems to increase slightly. I was wondering if this is all I can expect from this device or it 5m is a standard accuracy for GCing. Any help would be appreciated.
  6. Just been told by GC support that they are aware of the issues and are working on them
  7. that is basically the same issue I am having
  8. BTW when I reach the User Route Pocket Query screen, I have a blank map and the name of the route in the Query Name, if this helps any. I have also noticed that the Query page is not giving me any sliding scale as mentioned in the help page.
  9. I have tried PQing routes and keep getting 0 results. I have tried a few different routes as well as varying my query constraints. Is there a trick to this or am I missing something. I have used my own route, Stanford Merthyr, NSW to Chichester Dam NSW, as well as Newcastle to Port Macquarie. any help would be appreciated.
  10. I think things like trackables give geocaching a bit of an edge. I mean my daughter and myself think it is pretty cool that you can put something in a box and it can go on its own journey around the word.
  11. Yeah sorry about that i didn't think the first post worked. I am relatively new to forums.
  12. Just looking for opinions on whether anyone thinks that all of these AR games (pokemon go etc.) will have a significant impact on geocaching. Just a thought. I really hope it doesn't happen.
  13. Good point i think the similarities between the two are alot less than the differences
  14. Just a thought guys. I just wanted to get some opinions on whether anyone thinks that these new augmented reality games will take from activities like Geocaching. I sincerely hope not, but would just like to see what the general consensus is.
