  1. Do you remember when geocaching was not so commercialized? Do you remember when geocaching was about geocaching? Do you remember when people would confront people on issues? Do you remember when adults acted like adults? Do you remember putting peanuts in your coke?
  2. ****UPDATE**** There will be a unique icon for this one. The icon has already been designed and it will be used.
  3. I never really payed attention to the eyes. I did think it looked funny when I saw them but they are not mine so I never questioned it before........ Ok so the reason there are no eyes is because they looked to much like things on there faces rather then eyes. Now I did not see that photo but I am being told that the no eyes looks better then if they had eyes. I just like doc holiday so who am i to complain.......Oh wait, or was it just val Kilmer. .......Oh well either way
  4. Yes shipping is $2.00 total........NOT per coin..........Thanks for bringing that up.
  5. 1: I think the concept for "out for justice" is in relation to geocoins turning up missing. 2: At this point there are only 300 being made. This being said it is a PC icon. ***If the pre order goes to 500 then we will increase the availabilty and also have a unique icon which would be a sheriff badge.......However at this time it is a PC icon*** 3: I do not know any of the cost/pricing details. but I do aplogize that I typed 9.95 and it should be 8.95 I will correct that.....
  6. Out for Justice coins are ready for pre order. They should start production within the next week. We are only selling 200 of these and they will be trackable on www.geocaching.com Here is what they will look like... http://www.madhattersneverland.com/pez/wra...oin_wendy/1.htm Only 2 per person for now. If we dont get enough orders then I will post here and you can order more. ***I will accept group orders**** The cost is $8.95 per coin + $2.00 shipping ***DO NOT POST ORDERS HERE ON THIS BOARD**** In order to get these coins here is what you need to do: email me at: geo_gypsy@yahoo.com Complete the following information in the email: GEOCACHING NAME: QTY ORDERING : YOUR NAME : MAILING ADDRESS : CITY, ST, ZIP : PAYPAL EMAIL : We will start sending paypal invoices out in about a week to your paypal email address. Please post questions to this board and not my email. ***DO NOT POST ORDERS ON THIS BOARD****YOU MUST EMAIL THE INFO ABOVE TO GET PREORDERED** Plese bare with me this is my first time posting for geocoin orders. I have just agreed to help out with taking orders but these are not my geocoins..
  7. Oh one more thing.......if there is a lot of people at the event and looking at your coins to copy numbers it will be very hard to keep track of who has your coin at any given time.....which is why I like the paper idea...
  8. I like the idea of dropping them into the event......bringing sheets of paper with you geocoin info on them. I aslo have notes in my geocoin pages that state that people can not grab them out of my hands they can grab them from events and from other people....I dont know what purpose it serves but my thought was to eliminate sharing my geocoin #s with others that really never saw them..... I have only been to one event with my coins and I just took a handful and cut out the specific ones that I was taking.. This reason is because if most people get all of them at the first event then what is left for the next (that and saves weight) although I am considering taking all my coins from now on.....(this would be the angel and devil inside me fighting)...... anyways......I do not know of any other way then to grab each one back individually.....wait about a aweek and then just start grabbin them back from people.......it is time consuming (also another good reason for not taking all of them)......I think by putting it in the event it also gets mileage then everyone else grabs that coins and then you take them back from hopefully the last person..... Which is another reason I guess that I put that people can not take them out of my hands is once I take them back I dont want to take them back again......hopefully everyone hurrys and logs them...... maybe that should be a suggestion for Groundspeak........can they create where the owner of the coins can do a select and grab (more then one at a time) since at times I can see this getting very time consuming... Ok so now that I have rambled..........Good luck and hopefully I somewhere in here is an answer to your questions........
  9. It is on the TB page. The link is to the right and says "print TB sheet" or something like that......Hopefully that is what you are looking for........ Good luck..... I like your avatar!! I dont see it much anymore.......
  10. The last time I responded it was taken way out of context so I will attempt this again. geocaching.com policy is 14 days......if it is that important I do not think sending a friendly remnider is out of context at all...... at least at that point they can acknowlege therere intent...... At that point after another 3-4 weeks email them again and go from there....... Now the sad part of this is that it is a geocoin and the odds are it will wind up missing and you probably will not even know who took it...... Hopefully it has a long life........I like to see geocoins in the field......
  11. Great Job Jake..............Thanks a bunch for the usefull info........
  12. I think this is a neat idea.......However I could think of lots of questions regarding this kind of TB......But if I am ever lucky enough to see it then my questions will be answered..........
  13. You obviously know what to do with it so what specificly are you asking? Do you want soomeone to tell you that it is ok to keep it? Maybe I am misunderstanding what you were really asking. Let me read again what you said. "the greedy side of me want to keep it for myself (my precious!). Is this OK to do?" No it is not ok........It belongs to someone else.
  14. First off. 2004 washington coins are not trackable on geocacing.com however that does not give you the right to steal it. It is trackable on the Washington geocaching web site..... I really have HUGE issues with cachers who steal geocoins. Which as ShadowAce stated is why I do not put them in caches.........Yes those of us who collect coins buy, sell and trade them....I have only been doing it for about 4 months and because of the cost have cut back but I will tell you that I do not spend the money on these coins so that people can steal them. This should be a community that we can trust since everyone knows how important geocaching is to us. This kind of stuff is what takes away the fun from geocaching. I have an idea why dont you email the owner of the coin and see how he would feel if you just kept his coin?
  15. Sorry......mind is faster than my hands.......... What I meant to type was I think that you will get a lot more interest from geocaching as well as others outside of geocaching...
  16. I love these coins........I think they will get interest way beyong geocaching. I would be up for at least of couple of each........
  17. I collect states and counties so I am very interested in this one. Would love to see the artwork soon as you get it done......... Thanks for thinking up this one......
  18. I tried to get my activation code all sorts of various ways and no luck.
  19. I am not sure that this topic was brought up prior. I looked and did not see it. It is VERY annoying when a TB turns up missing and it is noted on the cache page that it is missing but the TB Owner does not remove it. It seems that I see TBs that are left in caches for months and years when it is not there. Is there a way for the cache owner to remove this TB so that people do not really think it is there? If not should they be allowed too?
  20. I would have to agree that limiting the amounts of coins that people can purchase is a great idea. I mean how many coins does 1 person really need.
  21. If you found a coin in a cache then you need to place it physicly in another cache. It is not yours to keep. You treat it just like a travel bug. When people put "just getting mileage" it means they own the coin and they visited a cache and want to get mileage on the geocoin the they bought and paid for......They keep the coin in their personal collection. Others place their coins in a cache so that it can travel from cache to cache not for someone to keep.......Take the coin and drop it off physicly in another cache. You record it in GC.com just as you would a TB.
  22. That coin looks great. I think it is an awsome idea. I would definelty buy some. Lets go groundpeak.......JUST DO IT.
  23. I would absolutly be interested in that geocoin......Sweet~~
