  1. Most of the day's caches were small, so it wouldn't fit. Though come to think of it, there was one it would have fitted in.
  2. Congratulations to snerdbe on reaching 1500 caches today
  3. GPS? Etrex Legend then GPSmap60CSX Time caching? 1 year 1 month How did you find out about it? Heard it being discussed in a podcast about something totally different Most in a day? 17 in North Wales last month FTFs? 2 real ones, another 2 or 3 when with a group How do you take your listings with you? The Wench is Dead (have ancestors who worked the canals, so this was an interesting one for me) Sheepish (couldn't stop smiling at this one) Vale View Geocoin Exchange (for the walk and the views) L'Avarizon (slightly scarey, a mile out to sea with tidal warnings!) Favourite 1 cache set? Haven't set any yet What roughly is your "Found" to "Did Not Find" ratio? Not sure, prabably 1:25, but reduced when I go back for a 2nd or 3rd time. How many caches in the dark have you found? 3 5 caching annoyances? Dog mess Litter Laybys that are full up Having to stop caching to go to work The time it takes to log them all online! 5 caching pleasures? 4. Last summer, just before I discovered geocaching, I bought a couple of walking poles. They have since come in very useful for poking around in nettles and brambles as well as their intended use! They are Leki Pathfinders, they extend to 115cm. I got them because they were the cheapest at £19.95 each. I later discovered they are intended for children (or small/light adults!) Having just bought some more poles, these are now just sitting there, so if anyone is interested in making an offer ....
  5. I get the same error from time to time. The annoying thing is that is usually fails after a prolonged time of use, when I'm nowhere near my PC. I've followed MM's recommended path of checking for MM and ActiveSync upgrades, but I generally just get different errors. Now I just go straight for the drastic option and delete the overlay file. As soon as you run the next export it warns you the file doesn't exist, and promptly creates a new one for you. Maybe the secret is to regularly close MM down cleanly using "Exit" and then restarting to keep the memory reasonably clear.
  6. I use GpxSonar on my iPAQ. You can see the cache hints without opening the file with the cache details. Just open the GPX file, then click and hold on the cache (same as right click on the PC) and select "show hints".
  7. Sorry I won't be able to get to your "farewell event", its just too far away! It was good to meet you at a couple of events and cache with you, and interesting to see you had followed me around Maeshafn last weekend! Best wishes, and whatever the future holds, have fun. Liz
  8. Congratulations to iTrax and FoxTail on reaching 500 caches. Yes, I know, they aren't in the UK, but quite a few of us listen to their PodCacher podcast. http://www.podcacher.com/
  9. I spotted one within feet of the HavaStash cache in Northants. It was the first one I had seen not in a reptile house, and I wasn't sure what it was so I was wary when I put my hand in to do the retrieve. I think it must have been well gone though. It was proabably more scared than I was.
  10. I sure to miss someone off my list, but here goes, Deego (on only my second caching trip!) aRRKS Browni Haywood Hornet (several times) Alibags Vimes Chillie Slim Kid mikelinandmalc lost-tyke Hampk - and yes, this was in the supermarket. It doesn't seem so strange if you know we live in the same village, but then Morrisons isn't our local supermarket! (Though we have met in the village Co-op aswell.)
  11. Sounds like a good idea, I shall be heading over after work from Runcorn.
  12. Congratulations to browni. They didn't just reach 1200 today, they roared past! Go browni... Go browni...
  13. Bulk buying is fine if enough people want to split the cost. I've just checked out the guy I bought from on eBay, he's still selling, different "designs", how does £7.99 + £2.50 p&p sound for "buy it now"? Here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-REALTREE-HARDWOO...1QQcmdZViewItem His auction listings start at 99p.
  14. I bought camo tape off a "well known internet auction site", from a guy in N Wales who has a fishing tackle shop. So I guess a local shop with fishing tackle & accessories would probably have some, and with no postage to pay.
  15. I really don't have any preferences, as long as I can get back to N Staffs easily (early start for work the next morning)
  16. No emails here either. Oh, hold on a minute, I've just received 2 as I'm typing this. But I know I'm missing a load more.
