  1. 'Adult caching' makes me think of people caching in the nude. I really don't want to see other people's bouncy bits.

  4. Was there thyme in the bottle or was it used to hold something else?
  5. Around here honking is a universal greeting - especially on rural roads.
  6. I find your bigotry and poor punctuation to be offensive. I believe you mean 'sexism' not 'bigotry'.
  7. Considering how many caches there are in Watertown someone will contact the reporter and let him know that there are stupid people everywhere. No matter how much you warn them not to go passed fences and to stay on the roads people will do stupid things like driving onto freshly plowed fields or leaving gates open and etc.
  8. My only e-mail account, apart from work, is hotmail.com
  9. Sioux Falls...crud, sorry wrong side of the state.
  10. Out of curiousity, what country do you live in? I open/conceal carry, except where it's restricted by law, because I can. I prefer conceal carry but in the summer you'd look awfully funny wearing a jacket unless it's cold and rainy that day. South Dakota requires a concealed weapons license to carry a concealed gun in your vehicle or on your person, but you don't need a license to open carry. If you're out in the middle of the Black Hills or out in the open prairie somewhere, you can't always depend on local law enforcement being able to get to you in time. My daughter has been told since she was tiny that guns are not toys, must be respected and treated at all times as if they are loaded. Never put your finger on the trigger unless you plan on pulling the trigger. Use common sense when handling guns. I have a trigger lock for my guns that I use when traveling to states that don't accept my SD CCW. To get back on topic: I also carry two pocket knives, one in my pocket and the other is part of a multi-tool that I have in my gun holster.
  11. I used to carry a .22 revolver until I saw some mountain lion tracks then I traded up to a Kimber .45 auto. I open carry and conceal carry, I have a CCW, in town and out in the woods. In town it's mainly for two-legged morons and the occasional ticked off dog. Out in the Hills it's for mountain lions, coyotes, the occasional lost Yellowstone wolf, wild dogs and two-legged morons. I carry to warn the critter off not to kill it but if it goes after my daughter, then all bets are off. I've taken and passed a handgun safety course and we go out plinking for practice. There's a gun self-defense course that is offered that I'm seriously thinking of taking. When my daughter turns 18 I will strongly advise her to obtain a CCW license also.
  12. I do my best to thank the person who moves my bug.
  13. I think it comes down to the CO's and the Finder's definition of dawn and sunrise. To me dawn and sunrise are synonymous. What is dawn? That's when the sunrises. If the Finder found the cache within the rules of the cemetary the CO and grumpy-wanna-be-FTF are SOL.
  14. I haven't read all the posts yet but I want to comment on the CO stating "the cache is before the gap". Does anyone know if the CO meant the gap as in the missing grill in the walkway or a gap in the pipeline support structure? For all we know, at the time the CO planted the cache there was no grill missing in the walkway.
  15. I've rehid two caches: 1. Found cache container out in the open, rehid it in a hollow at the base of a tree that it was lying closest to and placed some pieces of bark over the hollow so it wasn't so obvious then stated what I'd done in my 'found it' post. 2. Cache was placed above the high water mark in a ravine where a CCC camp used to be. We've had so much rain this year that the reservoir was three feet above flood stage flooding the ravine. When we found the cache it was now six inches above the water line and more rain was predicted, so we moved the cache ten feet up the hill, covered it with slate rock and in my 'found it' post I explained what I'd done. I also e-mailed the owners with the new coords - which were a guessimate since my GPS was bouncing so much.
  16. Dancing pines in the Black Hills National Forest, South Dakota
  17. Found an unopened pack of cigarettes - threw them away. All the smokers are screaming 'NOOOOO!' right now. Usually I just find random garbage, bones, road kill...found a red tulip growing in the woods in the middle of no where. Tourists stare at you funny when they see you carrying a gun, hey it's the woods and we have mountain lions, not to mention two footed predators plus this is an open carry state.
  18. Have fun in the Black Hills! Just stay out of the creeks - they are all full, running fast and out of their banks in low spots.
  19. I swear the more people there are in an area the less chance anyone will be paying attention to the person walking around in circles muttering at the thing in their hand. Also, unless it's a cop asking me what I'm doing my standard answers will either be 1. I'm on a scavenger hunt or 2. my daughter lost something in the general area.
