  5. What did the unit say when you turned it on?
  6. I did a search and really couldn't find what I was looking for....sooo....Can you remove a memory card from a 60csx and place it in a 76csx and still be able to read the maps? I have a 60csx and was thinking about buying two more for my kids so they can go do their own thing and leave mine alone.... I have city select and topo right now and I know garmin lets you use put software on up to two units...Just curious if anyone has tried! Thanks...

I will ship it to anywhere in the US using Priority mail. I have all of the original accessories and packaging. Drop me a line at flumanchu at sprintpcsdotcom if interested.
  8. So is the unit limited to a 512MB card due to software or was this just listed by garmin because the 1GB cards aren't out yet? Curious to know....
  9. Just bought a motorcycle and realized that I do not want to keep my hx4705 as a GPS...I am looking to sell it plus the Seidio mount for $400 or will trade for a Garmin 60cs only. I have had a 60cs in the past and this is the only unit that I would consider trading for. The iPaq is in excellent condition as is the Seidio Mount. Pics are available. If you are interested please drop me a line at thujaplicata@hotmail.com I accept Paypal and also live in Southeastern Ohio if anyone is interested in meeting in person. Thanks!
  10. Just wanted to let everyone know that I am selling a HP iPAQ hx4705 along with a Garmin GPS 10 Bluetooth Receiever and Seidio auto mount. I am only selling the receiver and all software to install on the handheld device. You will need to purchase a separate Mapsource CD to install your maps. Everything comes as one package and will not be sold separately. $600 for all. Everything is in excellent condition! You can check out my feedback on eBAY by looking up thujaplicata. Email thujaplicata@hotmail.com
  11. Having a hard time deciding between the Garmin GPS 10 Deluxe and the Delorme Blue Logger....Both are bluetooth and seem to be comparable in specs, but with the Blue logger you need to have a computer with bluetooth(which I dont have) and with the Garmin you dont...one of the things I like about the bluelogger is that it saves tracks whether it is hooked up to the PDA or not.....though I have used Garmin products for so long and am very used to them....Anyone have any ideas here? Dont really do much in the way of geocaching, but do spend quite a bit of time in the woods....
  12. Anyone here know where I can pick up a cable to tether my 60CS to an Ipaq hx4700? Tried doing a search, but came up with nothing.....
  13. Just got a brand new computer and have been trying to install Topo and Metroguide v6 without much luck.....I tried installing MG first and then Topo, but when I go to start Mapsource it open for about 2 seconds and then the whole program closes...so I tried installing Topo first and the MG....no luck does the same thing.....Well searching through Garmin site for an update I found one for Mapsource and I thought "Very nice..."......Nope, still doesn't work....Tried calling Garmin, but got the 20-30 minute hold time. Anyone have any suggestions?....I've done just about everything I can think of..... Thanks in advance!
  14. just wondering if anyone has had much in the way of experience with the HP bluetooth GPS? It looks very intriguing but I'm not sure whether it supports WAAS or would be a very good choice for mapping trails......Any info would be great!.. Oh yeh if not Bluetooth what about the CF Que?
  15. Due to some unexpected medical bills I am trying to thin out some of the toys that I have.. I have a Garmin 60c that I am selling with all of the original equipment and box...the unit has been used a handful of times and there are no scratches on the screen.... Unit has had all of the software updates done to it and I will toss in the latest version of Metroguide which I believe is version 5... I can send pics to anyone who is interested....like I mentioned the only reason this is going is because healthcare is expensive....$290 gets it all, but Paypal must be used! If you have any questions feel free to email me at thujaplicata@charter.net....Thanks!
  16. To do a reset of the 60c do you basically go to the satellite page and select different location or is there something a little more involved? Thanks
  17. Well I finally brokedown and got the Gpsmap 60 instead of waiting on the 60cs and though I had some reservations about not having a barometer and electronic compass, I am very surprised with this unit. I dont think I have had it out of my sight since I got it!! Loaded in the update and filled 'er up with maps and took off on my favorite running trails with the dogs....very cool! One hing I did notice that was kind of neat is that the background changes to black at night(or at least when the unit percieves it as being night) Am I correct in this? Anyways I thought I would add my 2 cents....as far as I am concerned the 60c is a fantastic unit and the only regret I have is that I didn't buy it sooner 'cause I was waiting on the 60cs
  18. yeh..i agree....in the past I have had Suunto watches and have not been too impressed by them....very buggy. The mapping software does look interesting....dont know what kind of mindset I would have to be in to lay down that much money for a watch......
  19. Suunto watches Anyone checked this out? Looks interesting, but very expensive.....
  20. I dont mean to open a can of worms here, but I too have a 60 cs on order from a vendor and had an Etrex vista. I used it for everything from kayaking to tromping through the woods(which mainly consisted of mapping trails) and a little geocaching. I guess I m trying to figure out which one will take a little more abuse than the other. I really dont care about the geocaching games....Any input would be grateful.....
  21. Okay there have been quite a few posts regarding the 60c/60cs altimeter compass debate....What I dont understand is if the 60c does not come with an altimeter will it still give you an altitude based on the satellites? As far as PPC's go...is there anyone who is using a bluetooth gps unit for caching and are there any that have WAAS? I have a Ipaq 5555 and am just wondering if I should use the Ipaq and get a bluetooth unit or wait for the 60cs....Thanks for the help.....
  22. Just talked with the guy that runs GPS discount and he confirmed the 500 units mentioned earlier and was under the assumption that they would all be spoken for by the time they were received by him.....also I e-mailed Garmin about their peculiar marketing tactic on this and the reply was: Thank you for contacting Garmin, We will ship the 60CS as soon as we receive the units from our manufacturing facility. We are expecting the shipment very soon. Thank you for choosing Garmin. Best Regards, Andrew Haaven Aviation Support Specialist ......that's about all I can add......still waiting.....
