  1. Perhaps you misunderstand premium caches. They are available to basic members on the map at lower zoom levels and they can be logged as found by basic members. If you don't want a premium cache to appear in you profile don't publish one. In fact, I could argue a cache in a public park should be available to all cachers. So far your rationale for wanting to hide a premium cache is silly at best. You said your cache has caused "problems." Are the other "problems" more substantial than the non issue you raised? I am sure GS will give your suggestion all the attention it deserves. Thank you for your concern. The additional circumstances around the premium cache hide are not your business. I can see there will be no helpful suggestions concerning my real conundrum, and no one wishes to stay on topic. Therefore, I will be asking this post to be deleted. In the future, if you wish to ignore the question of the original post, please start your own threads. I am unfollowing this post as well, so you all can opine on everything under the sun except to answer my question until this post is deleted. If it isn't able to be deleted, I guess I won't care anyway because I won't see it anymore. Thank you all for attempting to talk some sense into me without calling either me or my question names. Wait. That didn't happen. Perhaps I should just change my mind because someone called me a name. Wait. That never happens. (It's called an "ad hominem" argument. It has nothing to do with the substance of the question at hand.)
  2. Thank you for your responses. I am relieved that they were not all as negative as the first response. I had tried contacting the CO by email and he never responded to me. The description had just said that if someone wanted to take over ownership of the cache to leave a note in the log section. So I did. I thought maybe he was ignoring his "found it" notices so later I also posted a "needs maintenance" log to see if that would encourage him to come check his logs. Still no reply. I went out there and repaired the cache myself--I actually do that a lot of times just because I want the next person to have fun. My kids are always so disappointed when they find a ruined cache which wasn't marked as "Needing Maintenance" in the logs. So we have begun to carry a repair kit with us so that the next person to find it will not be disappointed. So I posted the message on this guy's cache that we did indeed repair it for him and asked again if he would like us to take ownership of it. Still no reply. Finally, upon the advice of the Reviewer, I marked it "Needs Archived" because it looked as though the owner had completely abandoned the cache. Almost immediately he deleted ALL my posts--including my found it post, and the post stating that I had repaired his cache. He then posted that the cache was ready to be re-activated and thanks to "whoever" repaired it for him. He still did not reply to me. Then I read the description closely once more and he had added one line about how he was not going to let a premium cache owner take ownership of the cache. Could he not have just once emailed me or responded to my posts? By the way, I have a good reason for making my one cache for premium members. It's not just to be a snob. It has something to do with where it's placed. But these details are getting off topic, actually. I would just like the ability to hide that information on my profile. I am also surprised that this happened because I was a free member for over two years, and it never occurred to me that premium caches were somehow unfair. I never gave them a second thought. I just enjoyed geocaching--there are plenty of free caches available and I didn't care that there were any I couldn't go to. I was really taken off guard by this whole thing. Anyway, the main question at hand is, can we not make our premium caches private information? Again, the topic is: Can we make this information viewable only to premium members, since they are the only ones who can look at it anyway? Not: Should premium caches be allowed in the first place. Not: You can't force anyone to give you their cache. Not: Perhaps you aren't a good CO for some other reasons. (Considering that I did do the repair work and the guy never ever replied or talked to me, I'm not sure what other reason he would have, seeing as how he doesn't know me...)
  3. I'm not sure you even read my post. Thank you for your interest.
  4. Here's the suggestion I just sent via email. I thought I would post it here in case anyone has any other ideas: I would like to make a request. I have one cache hidden that is for premium members only. I would like to make it so that when NON premium members view my profile that they can NOT see that I even have a premium member only cache hidden. Making this information public has caused problems. For example: One geocache near my home stated in the description that it wanted a new owner. I volunteered several times and emailed the owner with no response. I went out to the cache site and repaired his cache. Then the Reviewer and I decided that the best way to take over this spot was to mark it for archiving, since the owner neither responded to emails, nor repaired his own cache. The owner responded by deleting all my posts, including my found it log (which the reviewer has replaced and locked), and by stating in his description that he was NOT going to hand over his cache to someone who has a premium members only cache hidden. He never did respond to me directly. So I want this information made private except to other premium members. I should NOT have it held against me that I am taking advantage of being a PAYING member. Thank you for your consideration. I know you can't make him give me ownership, but I just wanted to illustrate why it's a problem that others know about premium caches. Thank you. And no, this is not to turn into a debate about whether or not there should be premium caches available at all. There are, so let's learn how to deal with it. Nor is this about making anyone give me their cache. I understand they have the right to give it to whomever they want. It's about privacy and not wanting to be punished for being a premium member.
  5. I can't send to my Magellan either for two days. I didn't think about trying it in a different browser. I didn't upgrade Firefox, but sometimes those things happen automatically, so that may be the one difference I could not find.
  6. I haven't been able to send to my GPS for two days now. I use a Magellan Explorist GC. Does anyone else have this problem???
