  1. After 2 dissappointing Missing bug caches, I decided to take some action. First I email the "Bug Napper". One sucessfully fixed the problem, the other did not respond. After a week or so without a response, I emailed the Bug owner with the following... "Your (NAME) travel bug was removed from the (cACHE nAME) Cache back in February by (Bug Napper), but never logged. We spend a hot dark buggy night looking in this cache for this bug, and were very dissappointedto find it not there. You might want to email (Bug Napper) to see if he couldlog the bug, or if you have the 6 number code, "Call it home" until (Bug Napper) fesses up, or remembers to log it. I have had to do this with a bug before. It was a dissapointment for me to have the bug out of commission, but realized it was kinder to other cachers who might go looking for it when it has been missing for so long. Cache on! Angela Wieske" The Bug Owner was very appreciative, had already tried contacting the Bug Napper to no avail. He recommended the Travel Bug Graveyard listed above, I suggested he make a copy of his tag, laminate it, attach it to another simular item, and post (mail) it to me. I would place it back in the cache where it went MIA, resurect the bug from the graveyard and send it on it's merry way. Perhaps this is a solution for those of you that have encountered this problem. I am sure someone logged "Went looking for X bug and it was NOT THERE" Email these cachers, ask them if they would be interested in a resurection, copy and laminate the tag and mail it out to a helpful cacher to put back in the cache it went MIA in. Just my 2 cents. Angela The-Wild-N-Wooly-Mrs.-Wieske Don't take your organs to heaven, heaven knows we need them here!
  2. If you are the owner of a MIA bug, you can grab it and put it here http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=29352 in the Travel Bug Graveyard. Alwasy to be recalled at any time. Just a thought Don't take your organs to heaven, heaven knows we need them here!
  3. Not meaning to offend, but I was sent this joke, modified a smidge, and thought I would pass it on. Fellas, please take it as it is intended, as a joke. Cache On! Angela Wieske CROSSING THE RIVER One day, three men were geocaching and expectedly came upon a large raging, violent river. They needed to get to the other side, but had no idea of how to do so. The first man prayed to God, saying, "Please God, give me the strength to cross this river." Poof! God gave him big arms and strong legs, and he was able to swim across the river in about two hours, after almost drowning a couple of times. Seeing this, the second man prayed to God,saying, "Please God, give me the strength ..and the tools to cross this river." Poof! God gave him a rowboat and he was able to row across the river in about an hour, after almost capsizing the boat a couple of times. The third man had seen how this worked out for the other two, so he also prayed to God saying, "Please God, give me the strength and the tools...and the intelligence ... to cross this river." And poof! God turned him into a woman. She looked at the map, hiked upstream a couple of hundred yards, then walked across the bridge. Don't take your organs to heaven, heaven knows we need them here!

  5. FOund this on. Placed almost a year ago with a finder. Awesome cache. Check it out! http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=5076 Don't take your organs to heaven, heaven knows we need them here!
  6. Heard about Geocaching from a former boyfriend that I had re-encountered on the net. Hubby thought, "eh, ok" I was geeked. We went out looking for our first 2 caches in February and couldn't find either (3 feet of snow had something to do with it.) In Late March, Hubby got called to University of Wisconsin Hospital for a Organ Transplant, and while he was in the hospital, I bought a GPSr. WE went caching when he was allowed out "on pass" from the hospital, and have found 25 in WI and MI. Placed 5 and planning one event for July. I am the one bitten by the caching bug. Hubby goes along. Son loves it, because he gets cool stuff, but I am the driving force behind all our caching adventures. Mom rules! Don't take your organs to heaven, heaven knows we need them here!
  7. My family has really fallen in love with Geocaching. We enjoy finding both traditional caches, and locationless caches. I, for one, would like the cache counts to be seperate though. I would like to know which ones we went to find (traditional), and which ones we found in reverse (locationless). I think both have their place, but I, for one, would like to see the numbers differentiated. Not as a contest, but for my own information. I also would like to find a way to look up locationless caches easily. I have had to hunt for them up to this point, it would be nice to look up all locationless caches and pick from there. There are only a few caches within an hours drive from our house (we are working on changing this fact) and locationless caches give us a reason to go out and explore the world, which, for us, it the purpose behind Geocaching.
