Garmin is build tough.

I have both and the 600 was faster to lock on... The 600 was buggies... I use the 60CS because no bugs, it came with a better map, 652 colors, the AA batteries can be found any were, the joystick is very well made (in the 600 look like a toy), I have drop my 60CS without damage and finally happy who have choose a simple GPS.

When I try to install the software that come with the eXplorist it say that it can corrupt my Windows XP. How can I install a driver for my GPS?

After I have place an order for eXplorist 600, I have read somewhere in the Forum that almost all the member who buy from that site have bugs.

I have receive my eXplorist 600 in the afternoon. I will test it if there are bugs in the unit. I have pay $289 us + $79 us +$59 can. I hope all is ok.

I know now that the eXplorist serie have many bugs. I will like to know how you manage with this problems? Do you if all the eXplorist serie have problems?

The XL will be 6.4 inch of lenght. More then the 1,2,3,4,5,600 serie. At www.gpscentral.ca you can pre-order for $489.95 can. What do you thing about that? Whole it be lest bug in that gps? Where do you thing we can find out? It would be on sale in Canada in octobre.

CondorTrax you doesn't understand me. I said "all of nothing" but at the end of my Post I said "I should buy just the essential..." But it's fun to have a eXplorist 600 because it look very good and we can put more memory. I have order one, not yet receive.

I will receive soon my eXplorist 600 soon. Hope it's not a firmware 5.1.61 because it sound horrible.

What kind of bugs the softwares have in the eXplorist 400, 500, 600 ? I have order one. Hope I can live with the little bugs. I have read that the Garmin 60 series have some problem too. It's one reason I have bought a Magellan.

Dot-Com will understand if I said "Tout ou rien". When I bought something I want it very good. But I should take it relax and spend only the essential to play geocaching

I will like to buy a good map of North America or Canada to play caching. At the Magellan site they have very not cool maps. Give me your feedback please.

I'm new with GPS but I will give my small experience with that device. I have bought yesterday a eXplorist 400 and when I'm inside and near a window I receive a signal 14 meters of precision (around 45 feet) within 3 minutes.

I have bought my first GPS (Magellan eXplorist 400). The price was very good at Walmart (370$ cdn) .When I start the display backlight many pixels are missing. It doesn't not interfer with my reading. Do you thing I have to return it? Thank you for your feedback.

Do you know the reception quality of a Garmin iQue M3? They have GPS receivers that have 16 channels and can be precise at less then 3 meters for less money than the M3.
