  1. We have a local cacher that has resorted to logging every cache no matter how tough, interesting, or creative as a "TFTC". My guess is it's because their grammar and spelling were so bad they took a lot of grief. You might think that they're uneducated or not computer savy but that would be far from the truth. I think most of us are happy to just get the "TFTC" from this cacher nowadays.
  2. I use Microsoft's version of the QR code in one of my puzzle caches. Works well and I might use the QR in a multi at some point.
  3. Unless an item says "trackable on geocaching.com" then it is not trackable on geocaching.com.
  4. I remember hearing the term "muggles" back when I started caching in '02, so I think it's pretty ingrained into the game.
  5. I've been caching for 8+ years and still learn new things. New features on this site, tricks with my GPS or GSAK, new container ideas, etc. I may not be a newbie but you never stop learning.
  6. Make little notes about each cache throughout the day. Logging is part of caching, if you don't like it then don't log them.
  7. Hmmm.... I wonder which of the cachers didn't sign the log.
  8. I don't mind people logging Needs Maintenance logs, but a newbie did logged one recently on one my caches instead of a DNF. They told me that my cache was gone because they couldn't find it and I needed to check it.
  9. @will9key I don't tweet much but I follow quite a few people.
  10. Yeah.. an aging fleet would compromise our ability to respond to the Romulan threat. +1
  11. One should have been included with the GPSr in the box with the cable and manuals. Often it gets overlooked. I bought it used.
  12. Hi, I ordered a bike mount for my girlfriend's etrex Legend HCX and it came with a back that doesn't fit the unit. It's too small, so I can't mount the unit. Arrggh! Does anyone have one of the little doohickeys that screw into the back of the stock cover? (See image below). I can't seem to find a place to buy one. Thanks!
  13. There's nearly 200 caches on an old railroad line that runs northeast from Farmersville, Texas.
  14. Ditto! I couldn't get through it.
  15. I would contact then cache owners in your area first, before shaking the municipal tree. No need to rock the boat if you don't have to.
  16. Why not ask the cacher that uses the term?
  17. Is it still the same GC code or was it archived and resubmitted as a new cache? If it's still the same GC code then I wouldn't log it again.
  18. What's worse is the camo taped container hidden under a lamp post skirt. Why?
  19. 8+ years caching, 3864 finds, 629 DNFs. Happens to us all!
  20. It might get kind of tedious as you find more and more caches, but it would be nice info to have as a cache owner.
