  1. I see that one other person besides myself is watching a cache I placed (still unvisited). Is there any way to figure out who it is?
  2. http://www.geocaching.com/mark/details.asp?PID=gn0534 I got one that is .4 miles away after a fairly long and difficult hike through oak brush following a pretty rugged 4WD drive. I didn't realize the other mark was so close until I got back to the office and logged this one: http://www.geocaching.com/mark/details.asp?PID=GN0533
  3. Thanks for the input. I think I'll hide it and see what happens. It is a big enough container that if others wanted to populate it with stuff there is plenty of room. I basically didn't want to hide one with just a bunch of junk in it and that is all I have right now. I have been looking at this location for about 2 months now thinking it would be a great location for a cache, 400 ft. elevation gain in .12 miles but what a great spot....

  5. I would like to find some caches that are really hard to get to (ropes?). Is there any way to sort caches this way? Any ideas?
  6. I was just thinking about hiding a new one and only putting a log book inside. Does anyone do this, does it "ruin" the hunt if there aren't goodies inside?
  7. Try this site. They have tons of stuff that should be great for a cache. The prices are reasonable too. American Science & Surplus
  8. quote:Originally posted by headmj:packages. They are TopoUSA by Delorme, National Geographic TOPO, and Maptech Terrain Navigator. What have I missed? What are your opinons on this software from geocaching, geodashing, hiking perspective. Been using the N.G. TOPO! for about a month now. It is fantastic! If you have a big hard drive you can load the CD data to it and it saves you having to insert the correct CD for the part of the state you want to look at. Very nice product and only a hundred bucks.
  9. How much do you have invested in your cache? Total cost, container, goodies, and log book included.
  10. My boy ( 10.5 months) from a benchmark hunt this weekend.
  11. I tried it a couple different ways and no deal

  13. Does anyone use software on their PDAs in conjunction with Geocaching or Benchmark finding? I've got a Handspring Visor and am always looking for new software for it.

  15. I've seen a few and was wondering if I go out there if I will find a Bench Mark. Thanks!
  16. I found a USGS monument but it doesn't seem to show up when I punch in the coordinates and do a search. Anywere to log it?
  17. I just entered my first cache and have some pictures that would be helpful to anyone looking for it. Is there a way to add them to the description? Thanks
