  1. Since I, too, will be participating in the Going Caching Mega event coming up this weekend, I am CLUELESS about these Lab caches and how to load them and find them! I read the FAQ's and that didn't give me much. The link has been posted and it a "#" thingy - I'm not into Twitter, etc, so not sure if I need to be to participate. HELP!!!
  2. Quite surprised when I thumbed thru the latest edition of "Family Circle" 1 April 2010. See page 73-75 - 'X Marks the Spot': Looking for something to do with the kids this weekend? Try geocaching, a scavenger hunt with a high-tech twist. Pretty neat to see this in a women's magazine. Short and full of tidbits and a few pics. Just not the place one would think to find such a topic.
  3. Hope a couple of Southerners aren't too late to get a few. Quite the coin. Way to go!!
  4. Did not see any topic about Montana caching, so I took the liberty to add this one. Montana is my home State and I made visits there on a regular basis and would love to know about special events planned, super caches that are MUST DOs, or just info about caching trials and tribulations in Montana. On this note, I would like to invite one and all to an event - GC17QHE on Dec 27th at 2 pm in Helena. It will be an intimate event to meet some of the locals, share some 2007 caching stories and GET WARM - I understand the temps haven't been favorable to being outside right about now. BRRRRRRRRRRRR Thought it would be a good place to dorp off a few bugs that want to get out West or down South. We'll have some raffles, too. Come join FireFireLady and myself for a cup of joe or cocoa and some fun. Looking forward to seeing some of you there!!! DFD PS: Have my own coins to trade also, if anyone is interested.
  5. Some things we wait to receive or find for what seems like an eternity. Then when it IS received or found, we're just not certain how to respond.... This was the case. Joebids and I have been together now for almost two years - geocaching was his passion long before he met me, but between the two of us really hit the trails. In just over a year of caching I am now close to 800 caches found - just a little bragging here! The BEST cache I was on the hunt for came this past Saturday. I've been in the midst of trying to get my house ready for sale and work has been hectic. Joebids came over late Saturday afternoon after I had worked and gave me my birthday card - a few days late - but it was sweet. He then handed me my GPS and said I had to find my present. He was sorry that it wasn't much, but knew I was trying to purge and de-clutter, but wanted to get me something. The hunt was on!! Unfortunately the GPS gods were against me and I wasn't going where I was suppose to be headed. After some tweeking by Joebids, I headed in the RIGHT direction. There in the chapel birdfeeder (oops, forgot to fill it!) tucked in a corner was an engagement ring. I saw it sparkling in the sunlight, but didn't know what to say or how to react. I picked it up and just stared at it! Poor Joebids had to ask me if I would marry him - of course I said YES - but my reaction just wasn't what he had anticipated. The SHOCK was so overwhelming for me. This had been something I had wanted for some time, but when it was right. I just wasn't ready for it to happen. Maybe that is a good thing - the element of surprise - that's for sure!!
  6. Unfortunately I see he's sitting in a TB Prison (Hotel) right now. Hopefully he'll move on QUICKLY!
  7. There is hope, then, for some railroad track I salvaged from an area below a tressel that was blown up during the Civil War. My question is this: Ya can't leave then in a cache - do you just log them thru? Don't think I'd like hauling some of those 'balls' around in the mountain caches here!! Bac for the back - among other parts!!
  8. I agree with pick 'em and move 'em on! I've got one sitting in a nunnery in Italy now that has been there for quite a few months. Can't complain because of the mileage, but would still like it to be traveling - remember these are called TRAVEL Bugs! There have been a couple that I have held for several months - BUT I have asked the owner if it was okay. Both were because my travel plans actually got the TB where or close to where it wanted to end up. As long as the owner is aware of what is going on and accepts the 'pause', I see no harm.
  9. DragonFly Dreams here. I'm a Yankee by birth and a Southern by move. I'd like to join your 'volunteer' army. I can come up with 5 TB's. Keep me in your loop. Neat idea.
