I know that Geocaching is all about the usage of a GPS. but when i go to a cache (on the site) and check it out, theres always a map of the location (in general area), in which if you zoom in all the way it would be around the same offage as a GPS. because GPS are usually off around 20 ft. the map may be more off, but would still give the general location. it may make it harder, but couldnt you try and find a cache w/o using a GPS? the first i one found was w/o using one. but just a rambling thought here.

thanks guys, ill keep those in mind. yeah, i guess i was getting a bit too abstract with the blacklight thing. though you do have to admit, that would be pretty shnazzy doncha think? as for the supersizing a micro to an ammo can, well, if people would actually take up my cache challenge....maybe, ya never know

Hello, im a recently new member of this worldwide geocache craze! i found my first one just yesterday with my brother! it was awesome fun! though ive had some ideas for setting a cache of my own, i did read all of the information on placing a new cache, but i was wondering if you would have to get permission for the town hall or whoever owns the land IF the cache is hidden within a public park. see what i wanted to do was do a multi cache in where they would go from park to park around my town. to enjoy them and possibly find a new place to go on weekends :P though what i wanted to do was at the last cache location i would have a riddle which would lead them to the place i work and so i could personally give them the cache. (i know about caches that cant be in places that sell services or products) but i wanted to meet this fellow cacher. so basically can i do these things for my cache??? (if having to go to where i work [Mc.Donalds] doesnt fly, well then i can put it somewhere else.) i also had another idea to where i would have to write somewhere with a special type of "paint" that would only be seen when you hold a black light up to it. i hope to hear from someone soon!
