  1. Hook your GPS up to your computer. Open the file d:\Garmin\geocache_visits.txt to view those comments. You can also upload that geocache_visits.txt file as field notes on Geocaching.com to assist with logging: http://www.geocaching.com/my/uploadfieldnotes.aspx Not the simplicity of pulling off the GPS I was hoping for, but it'll work. Thanks, fegan -- you rock!
  2. So we did several caches using our new Oregon 400t and I had figured out how to "log my attempt" and leave a comment. Now I can't figure out how to actually see the comments I wrote. That's where I put the little details like what we took and left. Does anyone know how to get to these? Thanks for your help, folks!
  3. We are going to a convention of 20,000+ people in a few months and are wondering if anyone ever does "event caching." For example, place a cache somewhere in/around a convention for the duration of the event and collect it before departing. Is this ever done? Any reason not to if abiding by geocaching etiquette and, of course, the laws?
  4. It is with a heavy heart that I mourn the loss of my very first travel bug. Sadie Snowflake journeyed to San Diego from chilly Minnesota for a quick holiday before buckling down to the hard work of winter. She began her geocashing adventure in sunny San Diego, but only made it one hop to Lazy River #4 which has fallen prey to the deadly and unstoppable muggler. That first leg was a quick, fast trip of 920 miles but it seems that this may be the end of Sadie. Her snowflake friends and family are very sad that she will not be joining them in Minnesota this winter. Perhaps that's why there is so little snow in Minneapolis this season . . . they're all off searching for Sadie . . . Sadie's brother, Skully, is still out there after after his first move, 667 miles from where he embarked on his travels through the caches of the world. Here's hoping Skully moves along soon to more "skull-type" adventures in honor and in celebration of his short-lived, MIA sister, Sadie.
  5. I would like to place a TB out in SanDiego next week and give it the goal to move across country back to Minnesota. I have not yet placed my first cache so would like to make a cache close to home it's final destination. I have e-mailed the owner of the cache for permission, but it looks like they might not have been caching of late and may not be checking their e-mail. I'm concerned that I haven't heard back and then wouldn't have a destination for my bug. Is it impolite to make someone else's cache the destination for my TB?
