  1. Go for it!! I have place many tree climbing caches and it seems that most everyone likes to do them for the most part. But like already said, rate the cache appropriately and add the attributes. Have fun placing it!! :-D
  2. These are pretty neat looking coins if I may say so myself.LOL They were brought to my attention from another caching friend of mine so I thought I should check them out. What surprized me is that you have a TM after the GeoGold name.I have been Geogold for over three years on both geocaching.com as well as here in the forums. I hope you well and that everyone of these realistic looking nuggets fly out the door Happy holidays to all and to all a good find!!!!
  3. No matter how hard you police your caches, there will be people that will log them online without ever finding it or at least signing the log. It is the nature of the beast. But there are some caches that I have placed that are harder caches to do and I state right on the cache page that just seeing the cache does not constitute a find, you must sign the log. Logged finds online that arent backed up with a sig on the cache log will be deleted. That is truely the only fair way to do it. Putting codes on caches only puts more work on Groundspeak, as well as the cachers finding the cache. That way you really only have to police the caches that really matter. I myself don't bother with checking all of my 1/1 caches as it would be a waste of time. But the ones where you have to climb a tree or climb a cliff to get to the cache, or hike in a mile or so into the woods to find it get policed as often as I am in the area where the cache is. Then I know if I need to do any deleting or not. With the new caches that are out called Fizzy challenges, people tend to log a find on a cache that they need for the fizzy. That is why only the harder caches really need policing. And in the end, it's only a game, there will always be cheaters.
  4. Pablo Mac doe NOT put out illeagle caches. As far as dangerous goes, I have been hurt on way easier caches than his. Danger is in the eyes of the cacher. If you have a problem wuth Pablo's caches, then DON'T do them. There is a button on EVERY cache page that says ignor this cache. But to open up a discussion in the forums about something that others outside the area cant see for themelves is just rude. As far as the cache goe that you brought up to tart all of this, I and the rest of Team Geogold have done it. It is on City of Albany right of way. He even tells you NOT to go to the waterway. The cache is not that dangerous either if you do what your supposed to do, BE CAREFUL. If he hadn't already archived this cache, I would tell people to do it.How many caches have you placed?? Part of this GAME is to look for AND place caches. If you would place caches, you would see how difficult it is to place them. But like I said before, this is only a game, and if you don't like how a peron plays it, then don't play with them, but don't chastize them for their cacher either. I am a cacher that enjoys waiting for new caches , looking for caches, and have always enjoyed finding caches put out by Pablo Mac. BTW, he does put a disclaimer on his caches. So be fair to other cachers, even if you don't like the caches they place.
  5. Hello all. There are currently 2 contests going on in Oregon that are free to all and you get a FREE geocoin when you are done.First is the Canby chamber of Commerce geocoin. To earn that coin you must find 9 caches in the city of Canby Oregon and the Origonal Stash Plaque. Then write down the gc numbers of the caches you did and the day you did them. Take that info to the CofC and they will hand you a beautiful coin. It's that simple. Next is the Mt.Hood geocoin. It is a very beautiful coin that only 250 were made for this. There were 10 caches placed on the 1st of July and you must find 7 of the 10 caches that are part of this contest. This one takes more time and miles to complete, but the drive is sweet and the views only sweeter. They are all very easy caches to get, and they are all ammo boxes painted a bright blue for even easier detection by cachers. You then get the "code word" that is in the cache to put on a paper that you print at home to take to the Clackamas County Visitors center to get your FREE coin. It's that easy. To get the paper you need as well as the cache GC numbers go to www.MtHoodTerritory.com and click on the suitcase and then follow the links with the GPS on it.As of the 5th of July, there were still 200 of the 300 Canby coins left, and about 150 of the Mt.Hood coins left. So get out there and have some fun getting some caches and FREE geocoins!!! Take care all, Geogold.
  6. The most caches that I have personally found was 63, but there are people that say that the record is well above that. I don't count the farse that the record was set at GW, because not all of those caches were found by all the participants. I believe that for a count to find, you MUST have signed the log, or it doesn't count. I also feel this way about any "group" that breaks into teams and then go in differant directions to help make the count of "smilies" larger than it would have been if the group stayed togeather. But thats only my opinion.
