  1. Is there a attribute for challenge caches? I travel & would like to bring up challenge caches in cities/counties.
  2. Interesting thread. I have attended a few T5 events and there are three more T5 events coming to my area in the next 3months. You need a watercraft to make it to the GZ. This event GC25DKW spells it out pretty clear " This is a "10 Years!" Event! Start your caching day with us and celebrate 10 years of Geocaching. You'll earn a 10 Years! cache type icon AND that elusive 4.5/4.5 grid square (Don't be frightened by the terrain rating!) " The write goes on to say that this is a wheelchair accessible event. It does not get any more blatant then that.
  3. Thanks for starting this thread. We own two 5 star challenge caches in the Sacramento Ca area........GC1D7QT & GC1KJ1H
  4. We recently placed ( GC1D7QT ) The 555 Club. It`s a challenge cache, rated 4.5/5
  5. I am interested in other players thoughts on this version of caching.
  6. I lost one to fire this year. It was in a old oak grove, thanks to the Fire department the oaks are still there.
  7. I am trying to register cachemate in my Palmlllx and need some help. I have tried all the things that cachemate lists. I can not find the page to register my code.
  8. Thanks for responding. If by sync you mean hotsync, no the palm says it is "never synchronized" and we cant make heads or tails of the online instructions from Palm.
  9. We just got a Palm3x for paperless caching. The problem is we cant get it to talk/establish a connection with our desktop with windows xp. We downloaded cachemate and are not sure what to do with it. Thanks.
  10. I have seen many types of alters/shrines, indoors and outdoors ........some were as small as a few acorns and a small candle placed in a circle. In February I came across a big one in the woods near the American river in California. All of the people that I know who use this form of spiritual expression have earth based beliefs.
  11. I just started to look on ebay for a Palm pilot and I am not sure what I should be looking for. Help!
  12. I recently placed a cache in a tree (20ft. up) that is a 2 ½ mile roundtrip hike from the nearest parking. I also left a “tool” nearby that can be used to retrieve & replace cache without breaking your neck. The F.T.F. sent his kid up the tree (I thought I picked a tree that was unclimbable). The second & third followed the instructions, found the tool and did the cache the way it was planned. My first 5/5 was a multi where the first stage was a set of cords tied way up in a tree….this tree had no branches lower than 15ft and was not built for climbing. My first thought was to go home and grab a ladder or rope for another day. My partner, Sweetann had a better idea……..1/4 mile away was our truck with the ever present pair of binoculars, once we were back she was able to read the cords and off we went to the second stage.
  13. The GPS device will not recieve waypoints from EasyGPS. Does any one have any suggestions as to what the problem may be?
