  1. now I'm thinking about doing a "Main street golf" cache. a series of caches down main either a multi-cache or a series of nine/eighteen. going to do a test in the park and see how that goes....
  2. thank you very much it does my heart good to see someone else with a similar idea. I must not be completely off my rocker.
  3. red socks thanks for the link very interesting
  4. That's interesting, and certainly different from what snow rules describes over at GPSgames.org. By "each cache", you mean 9 or 18 seperate caches, as opposed to a multi? mr yuck, I was thinking of a cache at each "hole" actually two. first for the coordinate and second for the "putt to the green" using degrees and a compass.
  5. Not knocking the idea.... as I think it could be fun..... BUT, consider this: YOU are the owner of a golf course... do you want non-golfers interfering with those paying and/or member golfers? I don' thin' so..... your golf course would soon go under as you would have no business before too long. Greens fees are high for a reason. It costs a lot to build/operate/insure a golf course. To have a lot of non-golfer, free-wheeling geocachers wandering about on the course would be a disaster in the making. sir Gitchee-Gummee, you may be correct. i was thinking there are trails on courses for carts and i have seen walkers. certainly permission would have to be given. I do appreciate the comment, often i do not think of all the consequent fall out.

  11. well I just thought it might add a new dimension to it for some people. my thought now is to set out caches on an existing golf course(with approval)and time the cache find on each "hole" for par+-, also to have coordinates at each location taking you close to the next "hole" & the final direction for each would be degrees and the golfer would have to use a compass and pace count to complete each cache.
  12. has anyone ever geocache golfed? or heard of it... just a weird idea.....
  13. ok two of these are the correct ones I think, thanks
  14. yep same results for me......... guess it is getting to be too old..... should have bought the cable when we bought the unit. just want to see if I can locate one.... we have two other Garmin hand held units, a 10 & 30...

    tb story book

Sounds good! You could attach some item like a "party-favor" pirate, knight, spacecraft, (or one of each) whatever seems like a "storybook" theme. Or attach something as simple as a pen. You'd also need an attached card that describes the mission. Most cachers just move a TB and do a basic log. But who knows, some people may add to a story. i suppose there is the chance that someone might add unacceptable text but is there not some big brother watching the logs?

    tb story book

i have a teen boy at home and have suggested to him that he write a paragraph for a story and send it to a friend to continue. sort of the old party game of gossip. the story develops through the group of friends for as long as their interest can hold. summer activity for teenage boys that are maybe a little on the geek side. thought this might be an interesting TB idea to develop. log in when found and add to the story of the TB prior to sending it off. any comments?
  18. I have one instance of dropping a coin and a fellow cache-er of some note in his log stated that he found the coin and found it to be beautiful but he n ever log the coin found. he stated that he would at a later date. to my knowledge it has never returned to circulation. and this is a long time cache-er. really changed my feelings toward him. we have never met face to face it might be a good thing.
  19. OK I'm new I have a few coins and they will not be traveling. Seen to many disappear. What a shame... Sign of the times I think, the "ENTITLEMENT AGE". Everyone is not equal and everyone does not deserve everything for free. RESPECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is what everyone deserves, if they respect others............ Just my raving, I'll stop. It is just a shame that some can ruin so many other peoples joy.
