  1. One of my hidden caches has had all it's trackables removed but they are still listed as being in my cache, how do I amend this information??
  2. Hi, I was wondering if there is a way of seeing which caches have been visited the mort number of times.
  3. Hi, I have a Garmin Quest, I love it and have had many hours of happy caching with it but it has recently broken and I need a new usb interface. It's a small pcb with a usb on the back of it, or in my case a usb that was on the back and now isn't and is too small to solder. Without this I can't update maps or enter anything of any use from computer. Can anyone tell me where I can buy the part? I've been quoted upwards of £45 for repair and I could do it myself easily if I only had the part.
  4. I was a bit concerned to see this article read this an wondered if anyone knew if there was a real concern for the likes of us humble caching types?
  5. I got an email from a cacher yesterday telling me "re: lyme boss. This cache may need a clean out some sad person has left ( tampon, tablets, half eaten biscuits and various rubbish.)thought you would like to know, cebees p.s loved the location thank you" this cache is not an easy walk nor is it a cache you'd accidentally stumble across so who put trash in it and why? Also, whilst I thanked them for pointing this out to me, could they not have simply removed the trash, that's what I would do if i found a cache in that kind of state. Just a grumble.. moan.. moan.. grumble
  6. Today I did a rare for me first time find and to my even greater delight there was a first find certificate inside, it was a very nicely done piece of work, it gave me an even greater buzz than if I'd just found it first. What a good idea this is don't you all think?
  7. I have had to disable this one while I retrieve the container and restock as I say in the note, but today it was logged as a find when it's not there, how can this be? I obviously meant Log there above.
  8. Getting my caches muggled really pisses me off, it seems to be an ever increasing occurrence, soon I shall have no hides left to look after.
  9. I was thinking of setting a multi with the track log as the last clue having made the cachers walk a certain rout to write a number. The scope is endless.
  10. Did the dominoes and dice series, have all the clues and even a hint from the owners, still can't figure it out. Has anyone ever solved it?
  11. 41 and not having any more birthdays
  12. Is it only American coins that appear in the stats on your profile? I recently found a Canadian one, my first coin find, and it doesn't appear in my stats. It does show me as the current holder on the coin site though.
  13. I'm tall and slim with large ears and my partner is small with poor eyesight
  14. No I wasn't making that up, but then I guess I could have. You could write to the same person who replied to me to double check if you wanted to. Statistically there is only a 50% chance that everyone is now fed up with this thread. I made that last bit up.
  15. I asked the nice people at ESA about the whole issue and they replied today with this e-mail. "First of all thanks for your interest in ESA programmes and particularly in EGNOS. Indeed EGNOS works above UK and Europe but it is still in the test phase however it will become progressively fully available and operational this year. To know more about the current status of EGNOS you can refer to the ESA navigation pages:http://www.esa.int/esaNA/index.html From there you can go to the pages dedicated to EGNOS in general and you also will find a link to the "EGNOS for professional" site. I hope you will enjoy using EGNOS." Best regards Dominique DETAIN ESA dominique.detain@esa.int So I guess it does work, in test phase.
  16. Statistically there can only be 2% of the people who post here left to add the reasons behind their names to this thread. I make stuff up.
  17. I too would like five coins please.
  18. Yes that's what I meant, thanks for your help.
  19. Is there a Mac compatable gps out there anywhere?
  20. I also own a quest and since I have had it, March, I have only had to charge it once. I use the mapsource software in conjunction with gsak to download waypoints, to which you can asign a handy little treasure chest symbol, it pays to be a full member here so that you get the proper files when you download into your map software. I don't bother with the arrow thing, once you've set it up so it knows you are on foot and off road it draws a line of sight course to your target, just follow it. I like the quest because it gets me by road as close to a cache as it can, then you just change settings and off you go. It does all the track back stuff too so it's fine for walking though if that's all I'd wanted from a gps I wouldn't have bought a quest. All in all a fine piece of kit. Oh and of you do find yourself having to input co-ords when you're out caching, just press and hold the enter button then edit the numbers, simple.
  21. My area is quite dense, mostly populated by scalies and chavs and single sixteen year old mothers
