  3. My friend bought a Meridian Yellow. I own a Garmin so I can't help him. He loaded some maps to a SD card and wants to erase them and start over. Could someone please let me know if this is possible using just the gps and how. Or, are they automatically written over whenever he loads back to the SD card? Any suggestions would also be appreciated. Thanks... ==================================== "Boredom is the state of one's mind" ==================================== [This message was edited by HackAttack on May 28, 2003 at 12:56 PM.]
  4. It looks like Texas has three events planned for this day. Houston, Austin, and North Texas all are participating. Here is the link for the event going on in the metroplex: Don't Mess With Texas ==================================== "Boredom is the state of one's mind" ====================================

What I'm wondering is does anyone know where I can get a special coin done with my team logo on it that I can use as a trade item? It would have to be affordable...but yet nice looking.....(no plastic would be nice). Thanks.... Northern-Lights Michigan We're going on a treasure hunt...we're not quite sure just where...but our trusty GPS, we'll find a cache stashed there!! By Daughter Cheryl Check out this site: http://www.geocities.com/team_fisur/geocoins/index.html If you want nice pins for $1.50 each, no minimum, no set-up fee. Try here: http://www.littleawards.com/littleawards/ They also do patches and are very easy to work with. ==================================== "Boredom is the state of one's mind" ====================================

  10. Okay this was definitely the weirdest thing that has ever happened to me while doing a cache. I approach the cache area and see what has to be the biggest dang cache container I have ever seen. It turns out to be one of those big tool boxes sitting on a big rolling cart like a 4 wheeler would tow. There's also an air compressor and another tool box. Probably easily $1500 in tools and equipment. Went to the police dept. nearby and reported the items. They then followed me back out to the site to retrieve the property (a little night caching with the police). It turns out the property was stolen from the City of Mulvane Sports Dept. and one of the tool boxes had the owners check still in it. So the city of Mulvane should be ok with caching. Land is owned by the county. Oh yeah, I found the cache about 10 feet from the stolen property. really liked the container. T/biner, air compressor, air tools, tool boxes (ok the police took everything but the biner); L/HackAttack Sig. Patch. Boy you really leave some nice cache items here in Kansas. Air compressor or opened McD's toy, hmmmmmm... ==================================== "Boredom is the state of one's mind" ====================================

Merely walking around until the coords matched up. Since we were using a Blazer 12 which only has two decimal places, we often spent a good 5-15 minutes finding a cache. Since then I have upgraded to a Vista. Found out about the arrow thingy at around 110 finds. Have come to the conclusion that it sort of takes the fun out of it. So in short if you're finding them and having fun, stick with it. But if you're in a hurry and running out of daylight. Turn that little arrow thingy ON. Also using the arrow thingy (goto feature) is probably a safer conclusion when driving to the area also. I can remember many times when Ma Bell would yell out as I was driving: "STOP the numbers are going the WRONG way" ==================================== "Boredom is the state of one's mind" ====================================

  18. Well, I'm going to try this one more time. We missed the last one by one team. However since I received numerous emails from cachers still wanting to do it, here you go. I have set up another Fantasy Football league for geocachers only. It's just for fun, and a good way to learn. Here is the link and the password: http://meeting.fantasy.nfl.com/mp/s?l=195556&sl=0 You'll be taken to a page with information about Fantasy Football. You can sign up and join the league from that page. NOTE: Once you get to the Join League Page, you will be asked to enter a password. The password for this league is: jirish Please remember to set your rankings before Saturday morning. Then set your lineup before the first games Sunday. The cost is FREE, and I will give the winner of the league an unregistered TB, and probably some other geocaching items. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me. And try to use your geocaching name if available. ==================================== "Boredom is the state of one's mind" ====================================
