I was given a geocoin at Christmas which I have activated but not yet placed in a cache. Today (A user from Texas!) logged it as 'Discovered' How can that happen? Unless it was a lucky guess/typo. I have emailed the 'finder' but not had a response yet. Anyone else had this happen?

I am lost! How do I mark a favourite - or do I have to be a premium member? Never mind Just spotted the 'new' bit in the prmium members 'advantages'

Just wondered if anyone knows of a source of free world maps (similar to openstreetmap etc) that can be used on a laptop or portable device. they need to be able to be used with a laptop with built in GPS but no internet access! TIA

Has anyone else had problems with emails from geocaching.com? Since the last downtime/update I have only had the weekly notice. No cache founds (although there have been finds) or watch list updates. The email account is fine as I get mail from other places

Strang isn't it. I have had 3 coins disappear and come back I still have one 'away' so fingers crossed

This seems to have happen after the 'Upgrade' last thursday. The postcode sarch and the 'hide owned and found' check box have not been right sine the last 'Upgrade'

I have the same problem. I use 3 seperate computers and 2 have that problem the 3rd is fine! I have cleared caches/history/tried IE, Firefox, safari, opera, chrome all same result. Very odd

It is a camping and caravan site so I assume it is private land and accessible only by those 'residing'. I thnik they are closed for the 'off' season as I bet they don't get too many visitors at this time if year.

Its not greyed out! (Onthe 'adnaved search page' it has always been available up to now and the screen does not seem to have changed!

Is it me or have the UK postcodes moved about 3 miles west? and the 'Exclude your owned or found items from results' check box has no effect? the lack of the tick box makes life almost impossible if you have a cleared area around your base locale Firefox and IE, Safari and chrome will not log me in! I have no posted this on the 'tech forum' yet as I just wanted to check it was not me

Hi, I have had similar on Windoze XP using Firefox. When you hid 'Send to ..' it opens a new window I find that I have to close that new window each time. To get round this I use 'Download to Loc' (does Multiples in listing) then open the loc in EasyGps or Garmin MApsource and then transfer to GPS Its a bit long winded but it seems to work. This also eans you can change the data in mapsource (I tend to change the GC code to the name as its easier to ident.)

I would email the holder. He/She may have forgotten that they have the coin. Be polite and friendly and hopefully all will be resolved. Most of us forget one now and again. If the holder wanted to steal it then they would not have noted the retrieval!. God luck

I have found this with my Etrex (Basic) About 18 Months old. I was recently abroad where it was hot and the rubber just came off down he sides. I have cleaned off the old glue and just super glued it back (careful of the switches though) and it now seems fine. You really do need to get rid of ALL the old glue first otherwise super glue does not dry!.I used some 1:1:1 Trichloroethylene I 'borrowed' from a car garage that does Brake servicing (nasty stuff so be careful - see Google)

Brilliant. I use Minimap sidebar and street map extensions but they use google maps so you do not get the OS style. Thanks a lot
