I recently had my first failed attempt. Part of me wanted not to log it to keep my streak intact. But, I did want to let subsequent cachers know that there was 15" of snow on top of the mountain and maybe others should wait until later in the season to search (of course, later that day someone found it!). Though in your case you didn't get to the actual site, failed finds can also alert the cache owner to a possible missing cache.

Coincidentally, while caching last weekend I snapped a photo of a marker atop Mt. Ascutney in VT (http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cachelog_details.asp?ID=47905&L=332514). However, it does not show up on the benchmark list (though a couple other nearby ones were mentioned). I wonder how many are out there that aren't listed?

I do one of two things. I either lower the resolution on the camera before I take it (my Sony still camera does this so I would guess your handycam does, too) or I upload the photo onto my computer and save the photo under a lower resolution. Hope this helps!

That did the trick. My flaw was not realizing that the Upload photo section meant I could use the photo anywhere, not just for the personal photo. All squared away now.

I asked this question in the Avatars thread but haven't gotten an answer. I have an avatar, but found a better image that I would like to upload to replace the current one. Only problem is there's no upload images link now that I have an existing one. Anyone have the solution? Thanks!

I'm about to release my first Bug. I uploaded an image but it was fuzzy so I want to upload a better image. But I can't seem to because the original image is still there. Is there any way to delete the original and add the new? Thanks!

Besides, think about it from their perspective. Of course they'd rather be travel bugs than collectibles!

I've had a nice little run ranging from California to Virginia to Vermont thanks to recent travel. Ironically, my home state of NH isn't on the list yet. I imagine there are some of you out there that are closing in on all 50. How many states for you? I'm an MBA student who expects to have next summer off (before rejoining the real world) and am thinking a geocache tour of the US would be a delight. Anyone tried it?
