  1. you can buy blank labels at stapes and print your own stickers(use the letter found for explainong geocaching)you can also buy blank magnets that you can put through a printer
  2. i have found cds that i think where homemade and copyed them and pasted them along aslong as you don't charge for them i think its ok

DOLLAR STORES,goodwill some times has great containers sometimes ammo boxs resterants will give you 1 gal and 5 gal pails(also supermarkets) I found a pile of film canisters by the film dropoff at cosco( the canister don't fit in there envalopes)mall-wart will give you film canisters if you ask at the right time(they used to recycle now they just throw them out)garage sales
  4. I always find that by recording the current position I get a much closer waypoint than a average(I use a ifinder go) 30' is great if you always got a readind of 1 or 2 feet there would be no fun ofthe hunt

    I use a i finder go for geo caching the only thing it doesn't do is download waypoints from your computer but its not hard to enter 5-10 at a time by hand best buy for about $68 and great in the woods
  6. this last week the satalites have all been in a straight line and I have been getting lousy fixs 100-150'off seamed a little better today so I hope it was just a fluke also check your bateries low power sometimes throw off the fixs
  7. just added greasemonkey and this script seams to work fine tried some local caches that I know where they are one gave me driving directions to the wrong side of the river but there is a bridge right there so its not to bad most of the others are close seams like a gret script
  8. there was a garbage pail 20' away from the stump with the fish people can just be pigs or they seen someone find the cache and thought they would ruin it for other people

  11. last week I was looking for a cache in a small park and under the stump where the cache was hidden there was a plastic garbage bag with something smelly dead animal or fish today I went under a covered bridge to hide a cache near the river and there was packages of meat from the local butcher scatered around the woods to make things worse at attracted a lot of yellow jacks and my son got bit any idea whats going on Its bow hunting season here in oregon maybe people are baiting bear,but in a park or near a landmark bridge
  12. love my ifinder go locks on quick and stays locked on in deep woods sometimes inside buildings only bad thing is not being able to down load way points but for $68 who can complain
  13. I HAVE BEEN HAVING THAT TROUBLE THE LAST FEW days maybe something with the weather or the satalites,also takes a long time to get locked on and the sats are in a straight line

I am also on a fixed income and I bought a lorence ifinder go for $68 It doesn't hook up to the computer but its easy ti enter coordiance and the maps in it are great It locks onto satalites even under heavy tree cover and gets me within a few feet most of the time I bought it at at a store call bi mart in the northwest but they have it on amazon.com for target for $68.00 and free shipping
  15. For free containers try asking for empty film containers at a 1 hour photo the will usualy give you all you want also try a pharmist. They get pills in 1 qt. plastic bottles that are water tight ,they may give them to you if you ask nice
  16. iF YOU have trouble with animals or insects going into your caches try putting a few mothballs in it most animals hate the smell so do insects
  17. THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL THAT COMES WITH THE ifinder go sucks for a basic unit that many beginers will buy it gives almost no instruction not even how to enter a waypoint I had to play with it for about 1 hour to figure it out anyone know where to get better instrutions for this unit?

  20. good will and other thrift shops sell containers like large mouthed thermases for $1-2 all kinds of tins for less than a dollar sometimes ammo boxes or tool boxs maybe a pressure cooker(Its airtight so its water proof and animal proof{maybe not a large bear or a smart racoon})
