  1. Wasn't the Atlanta Olympics bomb a set of pipe bombs, surrounded by nails, placed in Tupperware, then stuffed in a backpack? Ammo cans don't kill people cause mindless panic. People kill people cause mindless panic. Where and how you hide your container will most likely be the determining factor in getting the cops called, not the type of container. Pick two of any container you wish, (ammo box/Tupperware/5 gallon bucket), hide one at the base of an Interstate bridge pillar, and the other at the base of a pine tree 5 miles deep in the woods. Which one do you think will generate the first call to the cops? Very good point Thanks for your response-
  2. None of my ammo boxes have ever been blown up. Of course, they are all in areas devoid of the general public. A great article to expound on what Briansnat said: What would you think Krylon Fusion has been mentioned on the forums a "few times before." http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php...2Bkrylon+fusion Thanks for yourrespone and link!
  3. There has been some concern over the ammo boxes looking like possible bombs and according to some forum posts there have been actual emergency responses to ammo boxes because they were mistaken as possible bombs. This terorism has everyone a little edgy
  4. Since hearing about concerns using military boxes for caches I have started using the lock and lock containers. Great containers with a good waterproof seal. The great thing is I have found the perfect paint to paint these clear plastic containers. The brand of paint is called Krylon Fusion. It is a super bonding paint for plastic. One coat and my containers looked like they were manufactured in that color(I use green).Thought some of you would like to know
  5. I went to The GPS Store with the idea of changing over to Magellan from Garmindue to the bad press in this forum. I had a Legend C and it worked just fine. Referring to the CX in the forume I was concerned about this new model. Well after talking to the rep and looking at the Magellan options(all good except having to recharge the batteries) I decided to go with the Garmin CX. There was a BIG price difference moving up to the 60cx so I had to take my chances. If I should have any problems I will report it in the forum
  6. I was just about to go buy the Legend CX tomorrowsince I am glad I read this thread. It seems their is alot of trouble with several of the Garmins. Should I switch to Magellan? Where can I compare accuracy or ratings of both brands? THANKS!
  7. I have paid $3.95 at local retail store that sells old military items. I have seen one priced at a junk shop for $20!
