I recently dropped three travel bugs off in a cache in Las Vegas USA. being from the UK I was very excited to see it's progress in the future months/years.
My problem is that a "rookie" cacher has picked up the bugs and has kept hold of them because (as stated in his e-mail to me) he doesn't know what to do with them.
As you can appreciate this is very annoying. I also find that some bug collectors do not follow the correct protocol regarding bug movement. When I collect a bug I always try to help it on it's mission, try to mention in posting a log,to mention the bugs name and that I have it in my possession and when the likelihood is when I will drop off bug. I feel that there should be some sort of "policing" regarding tb's. I feel Groundspeak should look into this problem as I am sure that I'm not the only one
Who suffers from people's lack of thought!! I also find it strange that cachers pick up a bug and then drop it off in a cache that gets visited once every few months.
I don't know what more to say and I hope I do not come across as ranting but wanted to get this off my chest. I feel that regarding tb's more should be done by the powers that be to have bug movements made more smoothly!!! Why take a bug if you are not going to go caching for six to eight weeks. If anyone reading this has any ideas please post them as Groundspeak might put some more stringent measures. Maybe I should put my bugs in premium caches only???? But feel that would
be a shame.
