I was entering the data for a lab cache. I put in some coordinates and click check the map. This is when I noticed that the coordinates were wrong. I changed them and then clicked check the map again and it reverted to the "wrong" coordinates again. So I erased cookies and most recent temp files and tried again. Still no go. It keeps going back to the same wrong coordinates that I had put in. I didn't even get to the next line and I haven't hit saved yet. How do I change the coordinates? I haven't saved the cache yet. There are usually various advertising side bars on the right side of the screen, such as sales going on at geocaching.com or other geocaching sites. Today I saw a bar that had a picture of an envelope with the message that I had a piece of mail. When I click the side bar I'm taken to a page to download some new software. Is this a new feature with geocaching.com or some sort of spam?

Wondering if anyone has used either the Bad Elf 1000 or the UltiMate GPS Receiver on their iPad or laptop to locate Geocaches? If so, have you experienced any pluses or minuses?

I put the coordinates to a hidden "gift" that was well away from the cache so it wouldn't be found by accident.

Got this new update. Having an issue. When I go to the "saved" tab at the bottom and click on one of the Pocket Queries that I have downloaded, I get the loading caches bar and then the caches show up. If I click on one of the caches I get a page that says null values and nothing is there. Then when I click back to page that should show the list of nearby caches, it says I have no data loaded...as if there are no queries downloaded in the first place. The only way to have the queries show up again is to do a hard reset of the iPhone. After a hard reset, the software works fine for about an hour and then I get the same error and have to do a hard reset again. I even tried erasing all the pocket queries and reloading the phone with newly created queries. Same issue. works for about an hour then crashes. I just noticed that Hidde109 is having the same issues that I am having.

How do I get the cache page to separate sentences with spaces. I try putting spaces between paragraphs when I write the page, but when it posts, every thing is smushed together. At the end of the description, I want a couple of line gap and then put the sentence that states who was first to find. Thanks for the help.

Will my optional Topo maps load faster and update faster if I load them to the garmin memory or to the SD card?

I'm about ready to upgrade to the Garmin GPSMAP 62st and I read a review that said the preloaded 100K topo maps are not good. The review said I would be better off buying the 62s and buy the 24K topo map for the region of the US I want. This unit is going to be 3 times more expensive than my current GPS, but seems to have all the features I now know I want in a GPS. I'm buying specifically for Geocaching. Thanks for the help.

I just started geocaching and purchased a magellan explorist GC. I downloaded the instruction manual from the magellan website, but have a few questions. 1. When I am using a map screen, there is a box that shows "heading" and a number followed by a degree sign is in the box. How does this number help me to find the cache? 2. When I am using the dashboard function, there is a compass with a large blue arrow in the middle and a small red arrow around the outside. Should I be aligning the arrows to go in the correct direction. 3. When I overlay the map with a compass, there are little round pictures that appear around the edge of the compass. Any idea what these are? Thanks for any help.
