  1. Thanks! Last time I used it was on a trip to Portland (200+ miles). I geocached my way down there, but came back well after dark so just turned it off for the trip home. I don't travel much so didn't realize this could happen.
  2. It's a gorgeous day out today so I thought I'd take my geo-pony out for a ride and grab a cache that I've been wanting to get for a long time. Hauled out to the area, saddled my horse, and.....can't get any satellites. Now, I've had this problem on cloudy days and in the woods but I was in the middle of nowhere (no tall buildings), in a desert (no trees), on a gorgeous cloudless day. I couldn't even get one satellite to come in with even a weak signal. Any ideas? I use a Garmin GPS Map60. Last time I used it was about a month ago and everything worked fine.
  3. I got a Red Handed geocoin in a raffle at a geocaching party last December. I was told to go to coincodes.com for an activation code. Every time I enter the tracking number (I've tried several times over the past six weeks) I just get the message "we were unable to locate your tracking number". Can anyone help? This is my first geocoin.
  4. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I was able to find the caches using "search by name". Any idea why they didn't show up in my listing of caches? Normally I just turn the GPS on, hit 'Find' - 'Geocaches', and everything I have entered (all manually to this point) pops up. How would I know if I was in USB Mass Storage mode? I gather that's NOT the mode I want to be in? Again, thank you! We are road tripping tomorrow and I wasn't looking forward to entering all those coordinates in my GPS.
  5. Hi all, I am a complete idiot when it comes to technology. I'm trying to send the cache coordinates directly to my GPS (a Garmin GPSmap 60) via the "send to GPS" button that is found on all the cache pages. I've got the latest plugin (confirmed by the Garmin test page) and when I hit the "send to GPS" button on the cache page a dialog box opens up and says that it found my GPS. I hit the "write" button and it tells me that the *.gpx was saved successfully. However, when I check my GPS I don't see the cache anywhere. Help!
  6. I have Australian Cattle Dogs and someone on the ACD internet list mentioned that they liked to bring their dog geocaching. I didn't know what it was so looked it up. I started searching for a GPS unit withing the hour! I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, but never go anywhere but work and home. Geocaching gets me out of the house and out in the woods exploring. The dog likes it too.
