I use easygps. It has a setting to change the id to name. Much more helpful when importing to my GPS.

Locus maps recent update disables many maps from being downloaded. Be sure and not upgrade. Backup the app you have now. You may be able to find the apk for locus maps version that has the ability to d/l maps. I use locus and love it. Currently d/l maps for my camping trip this weekend. Great for spotty cell service. I also use c:Geo for offline use (to store cache data) and also upload caches to my Garmin etrex. For the find, I rely on my etrex. My phone is a dell streak and is a bit big, but works great.

I have a Garmin Vista Etrex hcx and it cannot do turn by turn with many of the free maps. Only a few maps will actually work turn by turn. I rely on my android phone for routing. Works very well. I use locus maps with offline maps when I am up in the mountains out of cell range. So find an alternative for routing. Don't rely on a GPSr.

Download Dolphin Browser HD . It works very well on my viewsonic G Tablet. You can tell it what browser you want to mimic. Has Tabs and a very nice UI.
