Is there a way for a computer (PC/Vista) illiterate senior to get the Palm Quick Install function to work? I'm trying to use a Palm Tungsten E2.

Have read many entries about pda, but for a senior with poor eyesight, is there a pda with a screen the size of my Magellan XL or even larger? I was able to try a Palm Z22 and even with my hand held mag glass it didn't help that much besides being cumbersome.

I had been trying it Nightpilots way and have had absolutely no success at all. I could not get any data transfer at all, using GPSBabel.

Thanks Parsa, your reply was the only answer that I have gotten that made sense to this old man. Yes it is a Magellan XL. It appears that I missed reading that you have to be a premium member to be able to do all these magic operations, but then sometimes I don't see a lot of things anymore. Thanks again. RB

I am computer illiterate but really enjoy Geocaching. I want to use Babel to download from Geocach.com to my XL. I have tried the easy and advanced methods, per the chimbisimo style, and no information gets transfered to my XL. I would like to eventually get some detail maps loaded also but if I can't even get POI's loaded I don't see spending time and/or money on that endeavor. So, I hope that someone may be using the same things and can get me straightened out. I am using a iMac G5,OS 10.4.8 and my XL has Rev 9.2.10. and Babel V1.3.3

My XL is the second Magellan I have owned and have been very happy with both BUT if you ever have to try and get help from customer service you will do better talking to other Cachers. Magellan CS is terrible! RB

Hi; Want go get the mapsend USA 3D, but would like to know if it will be compatible with my ExploristXL.

Will a Magellan Eplorist XL and an iMac G5 talk to each other? I ask this because I am trying to use GPSBabel and am not getting anywhere but frustrated.

First off. I am a mac user, G5 OS 10.4.8. I have an Explorist XL and want to be able to load/unload waypoints etc. and use the Mapsend 3D and such things. I understand that I can use VP on my mac and will then be able to use the various GPSr programs that are Windows only. What I would like to know since I am not familiar with all the various windows systems, is this, what windows version would be best to have working in VPC?

When I try to load the Mapsend disks, I get this error message "Can't install drivers Error code-2". What does this mean and what can I do. I am not very computer savy so please be kind to this portly senior. New Compaq Presario Notebook, running MS Vista, and using a Explorist XL if this is of any help. I tried Magellan and that was a waste of time.
