  1. Thanks for the input guys! I took them to the Hang Ten cache around midnight. Our flash light died, and we searched for a bit, and then found it. All involved had a blast! Definately added to the ranks of geocaching. Big Thanks! I'd love to hear anyone else's favorite caches.
  2. I have a couple of friends coming in to town and I wanted to take them caching for the first time. I would like some suggestions for caches in the north seattle area (Bothell, Everett, N. Lake Washington) that are exeptionally enjoyable, interesting or unusual. There's nothing like taking a first timer out and having a bad experience with a lame cache. Thanks in advance!!
  3. I wish that there was a quick way to do a new search for caches from a cache's home page. In other words, if I am looking at a specific cache page and would like to see the caches that are in the area, I wish there was a button that did a new seek from the current cache's coordinates. I usually open a new window, and copy the coordinates manually. I'm surprized nobody thought of this before. Please oh please oh please...
  4. I am looking to buy a compass. Maybe its just my imagination, but I can't tell if my old cheapo is that reliable. Does anyone have any advice for someone looking for a solid reliable compass?
  5. I found a WA geocoin, is it trackable? Log-able? What do I do with this thing?
  6. Thanks for the info, I really like what I saw at the National Geographic website, I think that is the way to go. Do you know if you can tranfer waypoints from the NG software to a Garmin unit on a mac? Thanks Again!
  7. Just wondering, I would like a topo map for my Legend C of a specific 5 mile square area. It is a bit overkill to purchase the nation-wide topo map. Are there any alternatives? Thanks!
  8. I'd pay 20 bucks for this. What kind of time-frame are you looking at?
  9. Thanks for the great info! Does anyone have any preferences for a certain certain company's (Garmin, magellan, etc) map interface. I am particularly interexted in the topo map interface. Thanks again!
  10. Where can I get the best price for a GPSr (That is still reputable )? Thanks!
  11. I am looking at getting a unit and was wondering if mapping is really that important for geocaching. Thanks!
  12. Hi all, I am going to purchase one of these GPSr's (Garmin GPSMAP 60 or eTrex Legend C). I am looking for feedback from any of you who own one of these (or just have on opinion). I will be using the GPS under pine trees, which is why I was wondering if the quad helix on the GPSMAP 60 would be more effective. Anywho, any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
  13. I am looking at getting a GPS unit and have noticed that the Lowrance iFinder series seems to pack the most punch for the low cost, but the interface software seems a bit clunky. I rented a Garmin yellow etrex, and loved the interface. Very intuitive. Any recommendations? Thanks!
  14. Thanks for all the input. Looking forward to Washington.
  15. Very Interested!! I hope that the design would be thoughtful and intuitive. These are the major selling points for me.
  16. I will be moving to the northwest (Seattle area) and am wondering if I will need a GPS with extra antanea reception. Any unit suggestions? Any northwest cachers with advice? Thanks!
  17. Thanks for the informmation all, it has been extremely helpful!
  18. Hi all. I'm a newbie with a small to mid-sized budget looking to purchase a GPS unit, and am wondering what many of you more experienced cachers use and why. Big Thanks!
