  1. i just recently tried that, there are no caches anywhere near me that have been rated.
  2. Hey, i dont usually visit this forum, but while reading about other cachers amazing and horrible experiences at cache sites, it gave me an idea. Perhaps, there could be a way where those who visited the cache can rate the overall experience and environment at the cache in question. It could be on the five star system much like difficulty/terrain, but people rate their experience based on wildlife, views, unique features, cleanliness, etc. It could give cachers a clue as to some of the caches that are must-see's and others that are purely "meh". Has anyone ever pitched this idea before? What does everyone think about it?
  3. i really reallly want to change my username ive looked all over for the option, but its nowhere can anyone tell me how, if its possible?
  4. id pay maybe....$100 for it. thats it
  5. i'm thinking about placing a cache right at a remote spot with a great view, what i want to do is leave only a logbook and a disponsable camera inbside the cache. so everyone who visits can sign the log and take their picture at the great viewpoint. once one of the cache finders says its out of pictures, i get it, and take it down for processing, then put the picture of the cache page. is this a good idea? has it been done before?
  6. just for an update looks like both puppers and Downey615 will both help me care for the cache. everything should work out fine.
  7. Stehekin is a fantastic place. We had the pleasure of visiting last summer when we were walking the Pacific Crest Trail. I think it was my favorite town on the entire trail (all the way from Mexico to Canada). I'm jealous that you get to go there multiple times a year. I do agree, though, that if the snake was in sight, it would probably make potential muggles more curious. Maybe it would be better if it was hidden somewhere out of sight of the trail. i know i love it anyways as for the vacation rule i should be getting assistance on the cache from someone so it should be good to go.
  8. this summer i'm visiting stehekin, wa. and i am going to place a cache along the lakeshore trail, a 17 mile trail that goes along lake chelan, anyways, i wanna do something a bit interesting with this cache, i wanna place a regualr sized cache, but i wanna curl and attach a plastic lifelife snake (that i just bought on eBay) around the cache, in order to deter anyone from coming any closer to the cache if they are unaware passerbys and non-cachers. im thinking im definately going to give the cache some clever name related to snakes, but i'm not sure if i should incude the fact its being coiled by a fake snake in the cache description (it might ruin the suprise). also im not sure if the cache would be safe (people realize its fake, and take the snake with them) what would be your advice on this? how should i present the cache both in the wild and on the net? thanks tom
  9. you are not a cacher...unless you have found a cache! brilliant, i know.
  10. thanks for the links. didnt know there were so many standards and restrictions. most likely this would be a personal coin. i might make one for my grandpa for his birthday.
  11. are they supposed to be double sided?
  12. shotty circle i know, but i really like my first attempt. The man in the picture is my grandpa, he's always been there for me in the summer to go on hikes and we've started to visit some caches together. Hes my inspiration. And its a picture of him at Lena Lake in WA. anyways i decided to simplify it in paint, so tell me what you think of it! a few questions as well, what is your preferred type of coin? like the material its made of, im thinking wood would be cool? also, should it be double sided? and finally, what imformation should it contain?
  13. hey im thinkin of making a custom one is there any kind of circular template for MS paint i can use to get ideas from?
