  1. Ok ... I am Sorry but I just have to ask ...... What is this TOS that is being violated
  2. Not really important, but are we talking about the Free Google Earth, or one of the upgrade levels? If so hopefully the $20 and not the several hundred one Thanks
  3. I admit I do not know much about Plucker, But I think if you use GSAK Flie - Export... - Html .... It would output a series of HTML files that could then be brought into Plucker some how and give you what you want
  4. Thanks for all the help. I knew someone had the answer Got and Tried Navigate, and it does exactly what I need and Blindleader's online Calculator is a great online solution
  5. Folks, I am sure there is a web site or program to do this, But I am lost finding it. I am trying to take two coods and come up with the Degrees and distance between them. Cachemate has a function to Project Waypoints that takes a starting point, Bearing (Degrees from North) and a distance; Then returns another Waypoint, what I want is the reverse. Can anyone point me to a website or a tool (one that runs on the Palm would be perfect) that can do this Thanks in advance
  6. vinniet, Cache Raid is a Macro in GSAK. How it works is, you select one cache in your database (you do have to a filter called CacheRaid to filter your database) Then you start this Macro, and it Creates a New database with the number of caches you select (It asks you for a number after you start the Macro). The new database starts with the one you selected the picks the closest cache to that one, copies it, selects the nearest to that, copies .... etc Very rarely. I usually have it turned off, I use it to get a location for placing a cache (letting it sit with averaging on for 5 min or more). I sometimes use it in heavy cover, when I am sure I close, but can not find the Cache, by letting it sit in place for a while to try and get a better reading, but it is not real good when you are moving (at least in my experence) No Clue, I did not know CacheMate did averaging (or CacheNav for that matter) Good luck Caching
  7. HI.... I think your list is pretty good. I currently use CacheMate + CacheNav almost all the time. I have also have NAV Companion that I sometimes use by creating a Route to tell me which Cache to go to next especally when I use the Cache Raid in GSAK. Granted I have to make the Route manually after I import the waypoints into NAV, but I find it useful, because CacheMate will not leave them in the RAID order (and I get tired of searching for closest Cache after finishing each cache) I used to use Cetus GPS rather than CacheNav until they fixed the pointer in CacheNav, now I keep it pretty much only for the waypoint averaging it does and use it rarely. The one thing I need to get is a good mapping software that Waypoints can be put into, so I can find the best Street path to the next Cache< but that will come in time
  8. One thing to note... you may have to go to the PALM.COM site and get a net driver for doing HotSync using USB with XP, if the Software that comes with the XP is more than 2 years old this is a very good possibility, but the fix IS Well documented and works real good. If you plan of Hot-syncing using a Serial Cradle you will have no problems at all
  9. Please add me too. I would like to also second the desire for an XML containing the Travel Bug Information. The links in the GPX for Travel Bugs are so basic, but are all that would be needed if there were a Travel Bug XML to cross reference it with.
  10. I am guessing that you changed your View from the normal to add the FOUND STATUS column to you view them moved it to the from of your column list. Because the FOUND STATUS is not in the Default view (which is what a new user of GSAK would see)
  11. Have you tried using the $_NewLine Specal Variable. I have no clue if it will work, but that puts a Line Feed (Return) in other strings
  12. First I am going to make an assumption that if not correct will pretty much invalidate every thing else I say. Assumption : The "Hiking man" you refer to is the Check boxes under the fourth column. If that is true then your problem is fairly simple. That checkbox is the USER FLAG not the found indicator. If you want to use it as a found indicator change your filters to "User Flag" Set. GSAK indicates a Found Cache by turning the code column YELLOW. If you are manually entering your finds, you need to EDIT the Casche entry. this is done by: Highlighting the Cache in question Back (Left) clicking the cache with the mouse to bring up a menu About 3/4 the way down you will see "Edit..." select that one This will bring up a new pop up and there is a checkbox in the lower have labeled "Found". Check that box and Hit OK ... then the column will turn Yellow and your Found filters will work Hopw this helps
  13. Ok, If you quick install showed the 3 different named files and you hit done. Then do the Hot Sync. When you open Cachemate, It will present you with a screen to merge in the first of the PDB. Once you merge this one, another screen should pop up to merge the second one, and so on. I have had an occation where one of them did not (in this case #2 of 4) all I did was close Cachemate and open it again ... and there was a screen popped up to merge in the second one. BTW .. I have a Palm M515
  14. I am not part of Kai Team, but I can answer this. The answer is a QUALIFIED "Yes It does work" It works IF you assing the .PDB file different names. Like "Found.pdb", and "Not Found.pdb". This is done on the first line of the GSAK Export Cachmate PDB File screen labeled PDB file to create Hope that helps a little .... BTW as a neat side, If your PDB name Exactly matches a category in Cachemate, it the import screen with be preset to that category.
  15. Hey Guys, is there a way (in a Macro) to filter based off the the new Macro Flag? I know how to it with the USER flag, But I want to perserve that for other things and do some filtering and exporting or moving based off the the Macro Flag being set. I am sure there must be a why and I have just not found it yet. Also, When I Load GPX using a Macro, is there any way to get the summary screen that normally show when loading manually to display? Thanks again
  16. I guess I am older than both, my first "pc" was an Apple ][ with 16K (yes K) and CPU running at 1 MHz, and a single floppy which held 120K (yes K again). Well I do not know if it an age issue, but My first computer was a Radio Shack TRS-80 Model 1 ... Had a Blazing 900 Hz to 1.2 Mhz (depending on the load) and 8K onboard memory (I upgraded to the max 64K). It had a 5 1/4'" Floppy and a cassette recorder to input programs with ... The Original "TRASH 80" ... God those were the days
  17. SSL stands for "Secure Sockets Layer" - it's a protocol developed for transmitting private documents via the Internet. It's separate from which ports you're using. If you're using an email server that requires SSL (e.g. Gmail), make sure that you've checked the box next to "SSL Login" in the GSAK GetMail dialog box. If you're not using a mail server that requires SSL, make sure you've UNchecked that box. If you're not sure if your mail server requires SSL, trying checking or unchecking this box to see if it fixes the problem! I am using an E-mail that requires a SSL (ATT Worldnet) and I do have the box checked. If I uncheck the box, the error goes away, but then so does GSAK. It basicly hangs and never returns
  18. This is not really the same issue, but when I try to use the GetMail I always get an error from GSAK saying : Mail Download error. Error message is: Error connecting with SSL I am sure I have the ports all set up correctly. I used the settings that Outlook uses to correctly access the e-mail.
  19. Clyde, I am fairly sure this will be another case where ATT e-mail just sucks, but I wanted to ask and see if I missed something. I have tried setting up GSAK to get e-mail. I will note that I have not registered this copy Yet (Need to get caught up on a few bills first) but I fully intend to when I can free up the money. I mention that only incase it might have something to do with the problem. Here is the error I am pretty sure I have the options right here is the set up in outlook that is working Any thoughts would be useful ... I really think this will be a neat feature if I can get it to work
  20. Well Pocket Queries (PQ) is the best way to get lots of Caches down at one time, but if you want one at a time you can go to the Cache in question, and if you are logged in you should a link .. that says GPS exchange file (*.gpx) near the top of the listing ... Click on that and save the file ... it should be namded with the Waypoint name plus the extention .gpx Then in GSAK select menu FILE and then Load GPX/LOC Browse to the downloaded file and hit Ok that will load the cache into GSAK hope that helps
  21. why do you need an error flag .. just use If .NOT. ($_FilterCount = 0) ..... ENDIF
  22. What type of Gps do you use with the Palm. Just intersted, I have a Palm M515 and Magellan GPS Compainion. I have been thinking about getting the StreetAtlas 2006 and have wondered it it works well on the Palm and if you can enter waypoints using Lat/Long and use the entered waypoints to create a route to Thanks for any information
  23. Cool .... That sound like a GREAT advancement... I will have to look closer at the new Macro listing .... Great work as usual..... Ahhh Well sorry for the long winded answer .. guess I need to keep up on my research ....
  24. Yeah this Macro is a touchy one... You have to set up several things BEFORE you try to run it. I will try to walk you thru it First Step is to create 2 new Databased in GSAK This is done by simply clicking on the DATABASE menu and selecting New (or hitting CTRL+N)... A pop up comes up asking for a new database name. Create one named Chain1 and one named Chain2. Next Step is to create 2 saved Filters Create a filter by clicking on the SEARCH menu and selection Filter (or hitting CTRL+F) ... A Very busy pop up will come up. For the first filter. when the pop-up comes up Look about 3/4 the way down the first tab you will see a label User flag off to the side 2 boxes are checked Set and Not Set. Uncheck the Not Set box, then click the SAVE button on the bottom in the box the comes up enter the following "user flag = set" (you enter everything in between the " " including the spaces and the =) then Click Ok The next filter is the main one. This one determines what is selected for you "Raid" so it can be pretty much anything you want it to be .. one idea is just uncheck the Found box. What ever you decided at the end click Save and name it "Cache Raid" (again the space is requiried). Now we are almost done..... We need to create 2 Move/Copy settings. You create a Move/Copy setting by Clicking the DATABASE menu and selecting Copy/Move Waypoints (sorry no shortcut this time) For the first one change the Destination database to Chain1 make sure the Copy circle is selected you also want the Replace and Add circles selected. At the very bottom is a check box labeled "Display destination database" make sure that box is unchecked Then click Save button and name it Chain1 Then Last but not least for the second Move/Copy change the Destination database to Chain2 this time make sure the Move circle is selected you still want the Replace and Add circles selected. and make sure the check box labeled "Display destination database" is unchecked Then click Save button and name it Chain2 Now Finally you are ready to run the Macro. Place yourself in the Database that has the waypoints you want to create the Raid from. Highlight the first Waypoint you want in the chain. Then Select the Macro Menu and select Run... (or click CTRL+M).... Hit the little folder to open the CacheRaid.txt file and hit OK It will ask you to enter the number of Waypoint to be in this raid. (one note this number MUST be less than or equal the number of waypoints in the starting Database) then hit OK Depending on the number you pick it will run for a while, but it will end with you on the Chain2 Database looking at your raid list Hope this helps
  25. Thanks I had missed that as a string.... Now just to play with the string and learn ... I love program chalenges
