I'd guess the only way would be using something like GSAK, there might be a macro which would do this.

Most GPS units seem to have paperless geocaching capabilities, apart from marine specific units. One which mentions paperless caching is a positive....it will make your life a lot easier!

I like using OS maps so I went for the 450 (screen the same at the 550) as I saw some maps on the 62 a was disappointed how they looked. It was only a quick look but it was enough to put me off the 62. The display on the 450 isn't that dim...and there is always the backlight As has been mentioned the best way is to check out both units side-by-side.

Check if it's there and post a NA log if it's gone as the CO won't replace it if they haven't been on for years. Contact the cacher who replaced it, and tell them of your plans so they won't replace it!

An answer to most GPX problems is GSAK It can rename long titles using it's 'smartnames' feature

I haven't a 62, but went for the 450 due to the increased screen size/resolution...and no regrets

It is a fairly steep learning curve for a lot of people, but once you get used to it it's VERY flexible...you can do almost anything with it, especially with macros

You can use something else to manipulate the data. GSAK will be able to do this with no problems

I'm confused by everyone complaining about a boilerplate reply from the reviewer? I don't expect a personal reply if they refuse a cache, they are busy people so writing an in-depth personal reply to everyone would takes ages...I guess they must have to send many similar responses. He asked 3 questions, so:- a) Answer them and move on. Don't place the cache. It's not rocket science......

There isn't an 'import' facility such as on opencaching AFAIK. Just create a new listing for a cache

These are additional waypoints and can have any code, although often use the pre-defined ones such as PK (Parking) TH (Trailhead) FN (Final) etc

You can still get them, funny enough I noticed a few of them in Sainsbury's earlier today.

I guess it depends on the GPSr. With Birdseye on the Colorado it takes ages to boot, but the Oregon only has a slight boot delay. Once operational it doesn't seem to slow things down though

Yup that's all you need to do, create a Garmin folder and put a GPX folder under it. The put a .gpx file in \Garmin\GPX\ and you are good to go

A 'proper' GPSr every time!! I started with a phone but soon got my first (of 3!) GPSr very soon after. When I go back to using a phone it reminds me why I like using a GPSr. The things I like are a) Battery life Ruggedness and c) not having to worry about a phone signal. There are ways to get a phone 'acceptable' but why not use the proper tool for the job?!

Not sure of the area, but I've had over 12GB of Birdseye on an SD, both on a Colorado 300 and Oregon 450

Not sure if it's because I've raster 25k OS maps (using Birdseye), but in a built up area I find the OSM maps better.
