Although if you can afford a bit more then SD slot on the Dakota 20 as it opens up a lot more possibilities

As you are in the UK then Openstreetmaps is your friend
Talkytoaster converts these to work on most Garmin GPSr's (including the 62) with contours

At least is a right of way which makes it a lot easier to find out who own the land...I had to resort of a 'goose chase' of asking local farmers ("try farm x".."not it's farm y" etc) who owned a bit of land!!
-
I get the same here with the old maps, the beta ones are OK though.

Mine has a carabiner clip...which clips on my belt just nicely
-
Not sure about the 60csx as I've never used one, but some on here swear by them.
As for basemaps...don't bother as they are pants There are plenty of free choices for mapping though, depending on where you want the maps to cover

oopps you've done this!!
You could try the other methods in the link, also updating the firmware could help.

If you can connect to it with your PC then just delete all the .gpx files in the \garmin\gpx folder. I had this problem with my Colorado and it sorted it.

Just a hint for tomorrow....check the difficulty rating before you look for the cache.
If it's 3 or 4 then you'll probably frustrate yourself!! Look for 1 or 1.5 to break yourself in gently

Ok..
Who was youngest king to come to the throne of England?

The problem with using a smartphone is you realise you need a GPSr...that was my experience! Stick to your original plan and get a GPSr...find one which will do paperless caching

So what is missing from the official app?
I've been switching back and forth between the official app, and C:Geo. I found myself using C:Geo more often because it allowed for movement of trackables, and it was just a little quicker and more stable than the GS app. Other than that, the live map was nice, but not necessary to me, and it was kind of interesting to see other Cachers on the map.
My understanding is that GS is going to be adding trackable stuff, and they may already have done so. I haven't checked it in a few weeks.
When I first heard about C:Geo stopping development, I was kind of peeved. The more I think about it though I don't think C:Geo offered THAT much more than the official app.
I kind of agree!! C:geo is good but posters on here make it sound like it's some sort of magic program which even opens the cache for you...
I started by downloading the official app, but then found c:geo which was far better than the v1 app. The v2 is far better now and the differences to g:geo are minimal (live map).
The other issue is c:geo started not to hind my finds which was frustrating.
But after a couple of months caching I bought a GPSr...which is the way to go...but that's another story....
I just use the official app if I'm 'out and about' and wonder if there any caches around.

take a look at updating the firmware..it's on 3.7 now. You can use the webupdater

GSAK is a bit confusing at first, but it makes loading waypoints (caches) on the etex very easy

Anything here or in the tutorial on that page?

Garmin or DeLorme are the most popular and are accurate and geocaching friendly. Most folks on the forums here can help you with those.
Although getting a DeLorme in the UK is not easy..so Garmin it is!!
You don't mention your budget.....

I doubt if you would as it's not a smart phone (Android/IoS etc)

mmm...I read a few reviews which said the Colorado was crap..but that was after buying one cheap off ebay.
BUT I have to admit I love mine!! I can't really find much to fault with it, and the GPS is spot on 90% of the time (the other times I blame to CO, finders moving the cache etc!)
I've the full maps on mine which makes things easy. Routing is fine if you are a passenger, but not really suitable when you are driving yourself...but then what rugged GPSr is?
For that price I'd bite his hand off.....

Does the 10 support field notes?
You need to look for the geocache_visits.txt in the \garmin folder if it does. There isn't any need to delete the file unless it gets a bit big as it ignores visits previously uploaded.

Yay!!
Got it in the post today and it's an H model!! Boxed as new with manuals etc Even more pleased with my £20
Updated the firmware and dropped some waypoints on it, now we are off out later so it will be a race who gets there first!!

They answer quickly at ours...the trouble is they don't know what happens there!! I had to ring 4 times and spoke to half a dozen people (not including the receptionists) for them to realise they didn't hold the Common Land Register!!
